My husband and I have started making DVDs for a local theater group of their productions, but I doubt it will lead to a professional career. It would be fun to design menus and create cool DVDs, but the effort we put in really isn't noticed that much by the "end users." On our last effort, the only thing we heard from people was that we'd misspelled one of the actor's names... no other feedback... We spent about two weeks just making the menus, not to mention the time to render the video to the correct format and bitrate... So much work just for one little disk... I'm not saying I'd never make DVDs professionally, I'm just hoping if I ever did I'd have better equipment to do it on ^^; I don't think I could EVER do professional editing... too much stress as I'm a bit of a perfectionist...

I've been spending way too much time on the SA Forums, and to be honest, taking a bit of time off from AMV editing.EarthCurrent wrote: =o it's Rich. I thought you had died. 'sup, buddy?
In June 2003 the station wherre I work switched over to nonlinear systems (Grass Valley NewsEdit 4.5) for all of its day-to-day editing, and clip layout is now server-based, instead of tape based. Our CBS and CNN feeds are fully digital too.
Since I'm now spending 8 hours a day staring at an LCD monitor, cutting video for the news twice a day on tight deadlines, by the time I get home most of the drive I had for editing in Premiere has gone.
But I do plan on coming back; I've got at least a half-dozen solid ideas and I'm building a custom computer to do them on.
