Just TERRIBLE! There's an ad for this guy's site IN THE MIDDLE of the vid, he couldn't be bothered to complete the song, and the use of effects is just plain tacky.

Now that seems like an original idea. A sign language interpreter up in the corner of the video, to a video with no sound whatsoever! Heh..

having just watched it I wished that I felt as though a piece of my life had been ripped away.
I'm wrong, the sign language interpreter would have been more entertaining.

I've browsed this site for a long time now, there are a lot of terrible videos which always seem to use the LOWEST resolution from the Movie Makers, no effort to make 'em look visible what so bloody ever.

Right.
Again, the idea isn't just crap video. There is no shortage of that.
Think of it as a mediocre, or bad video that you like anyway, or an early video of your own that has lots of promise.. but delivers only pain.

Obviously there are videos out there that seem to fall into this arena.
A lot of people seem to like this one for example: http://www.animemusicvideos.org/members ... hp?v=17773 even though it [very] obviously seems to use fansub footage, has bizzarre cuts and uses lots of familiar footage. Did this thing really get submitted to the Sakura-Con?

man, I remember a time when Cool Vids were the majority- Ever since they started giving out free bandwidth, I've seen TONS of crappy AMV's. Like "I'd Eat you Alive" to Angelic Layer. God what a crapfest. There've been a few others.

Ive seen the opposite, IMO, the list of people on the talented list is skyrocketing.
