Re: School Presentation on AMV's
1) Why did you start making AMV's?
I started to make amvs because I was always curious about video editing and Adobe Premiere in particular. I wanted to try a divx file within Premiere and used Cyber City Oedo 808 to make my first amv. I had so much fun that I have never given up the addiction.
2) How long did it take you to make your second video (time gap between 1st and 2nd)
I think it was about a week.
3) How many AMV's have you made?
~50 including misc.
4) About how many do you make per year?
Equation:
24 / (Given Year - 2000) = Videos made in given year.
ie. 24/(2001 - 2000) = 24 videos made in 2001...
or
24/(2004 - 2000) = 6 videos made in 2004

1) Why did you start making AMV's?
I was always a normal dbz amv watcher and when I got my first capture card, my friend Eric started using my dbz clips to make videos. Then after seeing Eric's videos, I wanted to make my own.
2) How long did it take you to make your second video (time gap between 1st and 2nd)
Around a week or 2
3) How many AMV's have you made?
I have completed 57 videos. 54 are cataloged on this site, the other 3 I am releasing soon.
4) About how many do you make per year?
1999: 17
2000: 24
2001: 5
2002: 3
2003: 5
2004: 3 completed, a few more maybe
Very BIG decrease from 2000 to 2001.

Re: School Presentation on AMV's
1) I like animation and fell in love with Anime after my first convention. Downloaded many amvs over the years; gained access to editing programs, then learned to do it myself. Haven't stopped since.Supaaren wrote:I'm doing a presentation for my anime class on AMV's as my final project, and I thought I'd have some creators answer questions, if that's alright with you guys.

Thank you SO much to any of y'all who reply to this, you're doing an overly stressed college student and fellow AMV creator a HUGE favor!
2) Started my second one about 2 weeks after completing the first.
3) Seven (lucky)
4) First year I came out with 5. Now I'm lucky to find time to make even one a year.

1) Why did you start making AMV's?
Well I am learning 3d max and i saw some of the vids that floated around my anime liking freinds. I had progressed from fanfiction to fan art and l I looked at premier and went.. I want to learn it.. and I had the footage and the music so I had my freind rip the dvds and I went at is blindly. this was Trio (alpha beta gamma).
2) How long did it take you to make your second video (time gap between 1st and 2nd)
about a week. I liked making the first one so much that I just had to make a Key vid.
3) How many AMV's have you made?
8 if you include the projects like kut-up and 5555 (Three unpremiered, and the 2 projects waiting)
10 if you count ones I havent finished/not going to
4) About how many do you make per year?
about 3.5 I like fanned out from pcs to macs so the stumbling about to try the programs takes a bit.

Re: School Presentation on AMV's
1) Why did you start making AMV's?
- Frustration with lack of certain artists and styles of music in the database. I was, at the time, irritated with some of the trends I saw going on in AMV's (e.g. the infamous 'LinkinballZ', which since getting here I don't even mind that much anymore.
2) How long did it take you to make your second video (time gap between 1st and 2nd)
-5.5 Months; however, I started one and never finished it 3 months after the first one.
3) How many AMV's have you made?

4) About how many do you make per year?
5-6

1) Why did you start making AMV's?
Few years ago i've seen a winner AMV of a german contest, it was the first AMV i've seen, i was very impressed that it's possible to make soemthing new just by editing existing footage. It took a year until i finally had an idea for my first AMV, i tested a bit with Premiere and after a month - et voila, my first AMV was completed.

1) Why did you start making AMV's?
I'd been downloading and watching AMVs for a while and thought I'd try my hand at one myself. Once I had an idea, I went for it.
2) How long did it take you to make your second video (time gap between 1st and 2nd)
7 months (I had various ideas but not the will to do anything with them...)
3) How many AMV's have you made?
5 so far
4) About how many do you make per year?
Not sure yet...probably 8-10.
