wat i use...
FIrst off for video editing...Premiere 6
Creation of effects...Flash 5 and Paintshop Pro 8, i recommend this one over photoshop cuz the 8 now has the same layer control window as PS and is MUCH MUCH cheaper...
i also use aftereffects occasionaly but only to do mates and cut out ppl from scenes...
to encode i export using a lossless and uncompressed format premiere...then i code the whole thing in Virtual DUB
as for you using flash for the WHOLE video...i really suggest u dont...and combine it instead with a simple video editor...flash is a vector editing tool...using NURBS among other things...its excellent for things u create in it...but when importing image files and video files u loose alot of quality. ive been using flash for about 5 yrs now...let it do wat it does best animate...not video edit...
u also might want to use actionscripts to create very nice lookin effects^^
