I know this may seem off but umm...
When you download something why don't you just rename it your way when it asks you to choose where to save as? That way you can find it.

Thats what I do.

$Title

Simple, yet effective. There's always credits to look at if you want to know whodunit.

Perhaps then I should also clarify that my own fancy-looking naming convention is because my videos usually don't have credits or bumpers of any sort...
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

$Studio - $Anime - $Musical Track or Title of AMV

Should Studio not apply, It's replaced with the sole creator. If that also does not apply, it's the project name. If I can't fit anything there, it's dropped to:

$Anime - $Musical Track or Title of AMV

Simple and organized. Just the way I like it.

Considering how long I spend making AMV's I am incredably lax in naming them. I make so many preview files that I start naming them with incomplete acronyms and numbers. By the time I have my final render I'm lucky if I include the whole title in the filename.

I sort mine into different directories for each series. I normally leave them as they are until I back them up to disk. Then I change them to the format:

AMV-Bebop - spikes11
AMV-Various - Follow the Sun

I keep AMV in front so when winamp loads the playlist of everything I can sort alphabeticaly and group all the amv's togather.
The sword, it thirsts to drink of man,
The sword at last must win,
Today is gone, and yesterday,
Must echo in the wind.
