This has been happening since the beginning of the digital AMV scene, and will still be happening up to and including the day the community finally implodes and swallows itself. It's annoying, yes, but you'll get over it

I still find it odd that, in two years of making AMVs, I've never seen my videos looted for footage and I've never gotten a flaming opinion. Not, of course, that I'm complaining

Ultimately it's not a big deal, especially if the person didn't steal any major edits or effects or whatnot. But if it bothers you, do what everyone else has been saying and leave a note with the moderators.

Offcourse, and i didn't mention those for the simple reason that they are generally more honest in things, and therefor are less likely to steal footage from other people. (Some good friends of mine are transgendered and very good people. I have no need do that myself, but i certainly understand why they did it, and i respect them for that, and for the people that they are.)

There's a higher chance of clips being stolen by a guy because of the fact that there are more male editors than female ones. (A fact that I was not aware of until a few months ago) Other than that, I'd say that both genders can be equally as dishonest.

There are idiots of all genders, ages, locations, styles, shapes, sizes and underwear preferences. This is not up for debate. There are people who are stupid and also sleazy, as in "I can get away with this, hurhur," and there are people who are stupid and also obnoxious, like "I'll do what I want and you can't make me, nyahhh!"

Girls, boys, men, women, small furry animals. Doesn't matter.

As for this happening to you, original poster - like they said, tell the mods. They'll look into it. The chances of this happening to a random person in the first place are not that great, so you just won the Unlucky Lottery this time.

OT: I do agree with SarahtheBoring and Kusoyaro, as long as people can edit, there'll be someone who will use fansubs, bootlegs, other videos, etc.

I personally don't care if my videos get cuts or edits taken from them, I take it as a sign of flattery, but if someone were to take the entire video and call it their own (though with all the ones getting uploaded every day, it's be hard to find one if they did :/ ) I'd definately raise something up about it, mainly because I consider this to be the most different from what we do with anime ourselves. Without raising up a whole lot of shit with Kalium, In my opinion taking clips from someone else's vid = what almost everyone else does with anime sources, and like it or not, unless by some force majeure all maldoers are removed from the planet, it aint' gonna stop

He CAN get popular that way. You say you're a female and all of a sudden you got guys AIMing you and all. Desperate people these days. I've seen an anime fan englufed by anime, it's not a pretty sight.

Exactly, that's what I did and it worked like a ch...

I didn't do that *hides*

but naw, I'm the same way Kristyrat, if they took a few clips, I don't think I'd be all that upset, but if it were the whole video it'd be a different thing.
Us girlies arn't more or less likely to steal footage, all genders I find are/can be equally shady...
