Fortunately, perhaps with one possible exceptions, the artists behind my AMVs are generally managed in a way that keeps them at the top of all business decision, since by virtue of their contracts with publishers, copyright is retained by them (or their legal heirs).

Myself, I'll be easily-parted with my AMVs. One word from the artists, and you'll never see them again. Notice I said 'artists'

Well I'm glad I know local bands. If it does come down to it I'll have them at least and there permission.

a few of my next endevors were going to be my husband's work, and I am glad i got artist's permission for atleast one of my videos o.0, and i doubt Phil is signed, since he juggles for a living.

I suppose we could always put out a boycott on all of their artists, though that would be hard, and I doubt we would get enough people..

Not necessarily the artists. Just the label.

That's not hard, either. They're not forcing you to buy their merchandise, right? So don't buy from them. Buy from other labels.

Oh, certainly, it's a dumb idea. If you have no principles, it's an absolutely crazy idea.

Really, though, if a label disapproves of what I'm doing -- well, they have every legal right and reason to do that. I, however, reserve the right to not give money to them. I'll do that.
