Re: Some Good News!
Congradulations! Good to see you guys are back on the air. I'd be glad to help with donations, but I hate using PayPal. If I could send you a check like how we can do with donations to "the org", that would be ideal. Good luck with future shows.UltraSonic wrote:Yes that’s right, WE ARE BACK ON AIR!! And believe it or not we have our old time back! Thursdays nights at 11! Now all we have to do is pay our $2,000 bill to get our drive back so we can work on new episodes... o.x;; ......please help donate... http://www.animefuntv.com

Re: Some Good News!
Thank you! Right now I really haven’t figured out a way to accept anything but paypal, I may have to go and open a P.O. Box, however that it self costs money, which I don’t really have at the moment... T.T but I can still accept check or money orders... it just has to be sent to my personal home address...rubyeye wrote:Congradulations! Good to see you guys are back on the air. Be careful how you handle this. Financially and legally, I mean. I'm no tax wiz, but I think that when you are accepting donations like this and using them to run a TV show, you need to pay taxes on the money you receive. Or you may need to register as a nonprofit organization. It wouldn't be a bad idea to talk to a tax law consultant of some kind, just to make sure you're not gonna wind up in trouble down the road. And be careful not to make profits from the money you receive. Keep receipts showing where it all goes. If you are later called on the carpet for making money off broadcasting shows without paying royalties to copyrightholders, you will need to have the proof in hand to show them the money wasn't kept as profit. Again, I'm not a money, legal, or tax guy. I'm a computer geek. Talk to someone who knows better than I do. I'm just saying these are the things I'd be careful about if I were in your position.

We do save all the receipts that we purchase any supply’s for the show, which we use the donations for, being self employed you have to save all the receipts from the things you get, it helps out during tax day, and what ever is left (lol if there is any) is put right back into the savings in which we use to help sponsor conventions and supply’s for the show.Lostboy wrote:Be careful how you handle this. ...because if you get your ass sued for massive copyright violations it's easier for the 'Org and/or the editors of the videos to get sued?UltraSonic wrote:lol no, it never was.. but, I guess its not best to ask, its one of those questions that will never have a firm answer too... but why ask since mostly everyone seems to ejoy it? ^.~x2 I'm still confused as to how playing AMVs on broadcast television is at all kosher, was that question ever answered?

What would prolly happen is a domino affect... if that were to happen, but its unlikely; since there is no profit being made, and all the credits for the creators and the anime are giving as much as possible.dokool wrote:...because if you get your ass sued for massive copyright violations it's easier for the 'Org and/or the editors of the videos to get sued?UltraSonic wrote:lol no, it never was.. but, I guess its not best to ask, its one of those questions that will never have a firm answer too... but why ask since mostly everyone seems to ejoy it? ^.~x2 I'm still confused as to how playing AMVs on broadcast television is at all kosher, was that question ever answered?

I'm not too concern with the anime end, but the music industry is what I would watch for. Anyways good luck with your show. I'll try to buy some dvd's when they are available.UltraSonic wrote:What would prolly happen is a domino affect... if that were to happen, but its unlikely; since there is no profit being made, and all the credits for the creators and the anime are giving as much as possible.dokool wrote:...because if you get your ass sued for massive copyright violations it's easier for the 'Org and/or the editors of the videos to get sued?UltraSonic wrote:lol no, it never was.. but, I guess its not best to ask, its one of those questions that will never have a firm answer too... but why ask since mostly everyone seems to ejoy it? ^.~x2 I'm still confused as to how playing AMVs on broadcast television is at all kosher, was that question ever answered?
