Closest I ever got was "I know the guy who made NTB."

That, and I happen to know DannyWilson's brother through an entirely different online community.

I avoid talking about AMVs all the time, and when people find out about them on their own or they'll get me to tell them that I'm a creator everyone usually ended up liking my stuff (rl life)

The funny part is that only people on the internet and hardcore anime fans hate my videos.

Nothing. I don't care if the people around me like or don't like AMVs, I still make them.

Nothing akward has happened to me.

buddy of mine showed F.E.A.R. to some guys in my old class and they were talking about that durring break. I was like "uhm yeah I made that..." they didnt believe me so I popped up my profile page here to show it. Other then that ones in germany at warhearts place when we were talking about some random video's with a local amv maker (I'm so sorry I forgot his nickname >_<) and Warheart was like "yeah he made that" then we laughed raised our beers and went on that evening.

Jacon 2004... I was sitting 2 seats down from Drngd Kreations... and Olin came on... i didnt know Drngd was sitting close, and me and pilk were complaing about the interlacing and everything... then the guy next to me was like... Do you guys know that he made this video? ... yeah.. that was kinda awkward, but drngd didnt seem too pissd by it....

at awa 2004, 2 people came up to me and they were like "are you amv4000?" so i asked them what video of mine they had seen... the couldnt name any, so i asked about Crying angel... i was right... they were like "yeah we love that one" ... all lies...

and at ACEN 2006, some people were watching CBR-Heck on their laptop, so when it was over i told them "i helpped make that" and they didnt believe me, so i pointed out my name in the credits, they were just like... ok, sure... so we talked a little bit, then i left...

Ahh, the joys of being an unknown, unaccomplished editor.

But one awkward moment was at my one and only con appearance at NekoCon 7 in 2004. I entered the auditorium about 1/2 way through the the showings (they freaking scheduled the VA autograph session during the AMV competition  ) So I had to stand in the back. Now I'm a very stressed out person, so it was getting to me waiting for "Shinji's Downfall" to play. When it did, I stooped down behind the last row of seats and refused to watch. When it ended, I finally stood up and some people behind me were laughing at me saying, "What are you scared of? It's not like you made that. It wasn't very good anyway. The real editor should be hiding behind those chairs."

I just wanted to die a death equal to that of Baveheart.

Haha thats kinda like what happend at Acon 06 this year when the editors were sitting on the front row and crowd judges on the second row. Video of my buddy came up and they were like "mehhh looks like WMM" while clearly beeing some handy AE work then JCD's Princess Bride came up "mehhh that just probably dosnt have a gf" then my video came on "mehhh thats not even a music video wtf is that..." then we all left the room crying after a ulead video beat us all ;_;

This happens all the time with my two earliest videos, Utena (Story of a Girl) and Arima to Miyazawa (also known as Kare Kano - Hanging By A Moment, since the title is Japanese [to = and], and seems no one knows of it by that name). The utena vid, primarily, has been available on every peer to peer program ever. I've even taken to dowloading it from people when I find it.

I usually do tell the person when I overhear something about it: "You know, I made that..." "o rly" "ya rly" "NO WAI!" then I provide some kind of proof I'm Kionon and they're like "dooood." It's like it's haunting me. It was me first video, it has bad footage, subtitles, horrible compression, WHY DO PEOPLE STILL WATCH IT?

I must remaster it and start distributing it on every p2p program evar.

I made a post on a Neopets board and got a lot of responses once xD
I said "Has anyone ever heard of Once In A Blue Moon Productions" and Radical_Yue (My username on there is _Kikaider_) and I got about 30 responses from n00bs saying they liked vids by Radical_Yue (lol)
When I told them I was Radical_Yue, they started bashing me -___-

That's about it -___-
Pathetic eh?

I've tried to get my friends into AMVs, but to no avail...Whenever I show them mine or others (although they are hard core anime fans) they just "Eh~" it...

Nothing that'll make me blush. Just make me feel like a loser lol

I've only read the first post because:

1. I'm lazy now

2. I haven't time to read more

So I'll answer specifically to that question.
To be honest yes, more than once someone contacted me for something that was not concerning Amvs at all, and after some days he/she was just coming to me asking "OMFG did you see this video? It's an Amv! You said that you like them so look at this one it's @]$£" and me "Uhm, it's mine" - " " -

So proud of those moments

Yeah it's sad I know
