How much would you pay to lease bandwidth from me for AMVs?

Klinky- That was just about the funniest damn picture i've ever seen. I like how the stick up my ass is bigger than my body, hahaha. I don't mind jbone's juvenile ramblings. I don't think I even need to make fun of him, his videos do that for me.
Gotta- Hahaha that's awesome. Make him do all kinds of stupid shit, like scrubbing your internet-toilet, and shining your internet-tecticles. Oh, and make sure you make him change his name.

Oh and by the way klinky, it's "jbone" not "Jbone", you wouldn't want him to make fun of the way you spell. I mean, it's not like his name on here isn't grammatically correct or properly spelled, right? oh wait...

Nope, not a damn thing. And does commenting on how it has nothing to do with hosting have anything to do with hosting? God damn.

And neither does commenting that Luke Valentine's signature image breaks the site's signature image rule, but I'm saying it anyway.Luke Valentine wrote:Nope, not a damn thing. And does commenting on how it has nothing to do with hosting have anything to do with hosting? God damn.

Hey hey, ya know what else doesn't have a damn thing to do with hosting? Bringing up more stupid shit to try to get me in trouble. Panda beat you to it jackass.

I hope Luke Valentine's opinions and attitudes aren't shared by all members of this community. I still don't quite think I understand why I got such a reaction out of you, Luke. The primary intention of this post was to "test the waters" to see what people would pay, or more appropriately "donate" if I were to put up some good space/bandwidth. Not for profit, but because it was available to me cheaply, and it seems like offering bandwidth to the amv community at a cheaper price would be a "kind" and benevolent thing to do. I am not a rich person, so I cannot really afford to give things away left and right. If you expected this of me, than surely you must have some values that you need to reevaluate. You pounced on me like a tiger on a zebra for doing the same thing that "the golden donut" has been planning to offer, only on a smaller scale. What makes my intentions so different? My offer would actually have been nearly 1/20 the price of the Golden Donut anyway... TGD (the golden donut, henceforth) is securing much more bandwidth/space than I was going to, so I understand the need for $20 donations, and it is indeed a great cause. But I believe that your attacks were unwarranted.)
Now, on to the more personal matter of my screen name. I don't even know why I am bothering to reply to this point, but here goes. Back in the ignorant AOL days, every screen name was TAKEN. Unless you inserted strange numbers instead of letters or tacked on some huge number at the end of your name, odds are, without some incredible inspiration and a unique idea, you were not going to get your preferred name. My preferred name was Procrastinator, of course. First of all, that was too long of a name. Second of all, Pr0crastinator was taken, which looks most similar to Procrastinator. Third of all, Pr0crastin8r was available, and I didn't feel like spending the time to formulate another name, because afterall, who has time for trivial things like that? So after using that SN for a few yrs and eventually weaning off AOL into mainstream dial-up and eventually broadband, that name just became the first thing that popped into my mind whenever I had to sign up for something, simply because I had used it for so long, and nobody had ever taken it. Now that I've explained the boring history of my name, maybe you will think twice before accusing people of being little h4x0r kids who spend their entire life on the internet speaking in number letters, which by the way, you seem to know an awful lot about.
You talk like you think you have so much seniority around here Luke, yet you have the same number of posts that I have and you have been a member of the community for more than a year less than I have. Respect your elders boy, and don't go around here insulting random people trying to start flame wars. That is not what a-m-v.org is about.

What, you think you are some kind of hero now? You sure sound like you are trying to start a flame war.And whatever comes, rest assured I'll be here to make sure they shut the hell up. I can't stand people making fools of themselves. So sure they'll have some lame comeback, but whatever they show up with, I can combat with simple logic.
Gottaname, we never closed the deal. I never asked for a partnership either, I believe you offered it, and since I have discovered who your mystery host is, and since you wanted more control over things than I deserve for the money I'd be contributing, and since your mystery host is cheaper than what my friend was going to charge me, I very well may go my own path with this.Well... Forgot to tell you guys, Pr0crastin8r PMed me asking for an Partnership, which I accepted so.... HE'S MY SNAKE NOW AHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!!! (Quote for Starcraft)
Real mature.Gotta- Hahaha that's awesome. Make him do all kinds of stupid shit, like scrubbing your internet-toilet, and shining your internet-tecticles. Oh, and make sure you make him change his name.

I wasn't doing something so childish as "trying to get you into trouble."Luke Valentine wrote:Hey hey, ya know what else doesn't have a damn thing to do with hosting? Bringing up more stupid shit to try to get me in trouble. Panda beat you to it jackass.
There does exist such a thing as "informing someone of a mistake he or she has made, so that the individual may correct his or her error."
Indeed, there was somewhat of a sardonic undertone to my statement, but it was harmless and did not prevent my message from being understood. You simply choose to believe me a "jackass" for it.
Oh, and as far as "pr0crasin8er" is concerned - people were doing that sort of thing with license plates LONG before the Internet existed. And it's not as if his name were "p70|<745+1n837" or anything. So don't be so uppity about people using numeric characters in their screen names.

Even though with the golden donut stuff about to come out here and (hopefully) eliminate the problem the majority of creators have who need to host just a few amvs...your sincerity and maturity impress me ^-^ even though it's rather unnecessary. And though I personally don't condone it, people with naughty amvs will need remote hosting if you really want to press your offer.Pr0crastin8r wrote: Lots 'o' stuff
But since you don't have a whole lot to give away and aren't in for profit, why not host your own contest and give temp space to a winner?
