The series has such dramatic imagery, it's perfect for drama/action videos. The expressions and atmosphere fit so much music, and the plot is so broad and open-to-interpretation that you can stretch it to fit all kinds of lyrics. It's very diverse, and can even be stretched into comedy with enough effort.

Kusoyaro: We don't need a leader. We need to SHUT UP. Make what you want to make, don't make you what you don't want to make. If neither of those applies to you, then you need to SHUT UP MORE.

So does Rah Xephon, which is what i'm using atm. It has the same type of inner mind and crazyness scenes as NGE. It's also not overused like NGE.Flint the Dwarf wrote:Making and watching: Evangelion

As far as watching AMVs ofI don't really have one. A good amv is a good amv to me and I no longer search for amvs to watch because it was causing too much space clutter in my hard drive. Now I download videos based on recomendations and what I see at conventions.
As for anime I make AMVs from actually it's none. I have a personal rule of not making more than one AMV to the same show (various videos excluded). The reason for that is it keeps me from overusing a show, prevents me from getting bored (of making amvs or of the show) or stretching for ideas where the are none. In effect I've never made more than one amv to any show I have and I probably never will.

Re: Your Fav [anime for] AMVs
Noir and His and Her Circumstances were pretty nice to edit with but I want to try to edit with other anime series (such as the three mentioned below).SuperSaiyanCannibal wrote:What's your favorite anime to make AMVs from and why?
SuperSaiyanCannibal wrote:Also, of what anime series' do you enjoy watching AMVs of?
Currently, it's The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, sometimes .hack//SIGN and Elfen Lied.

Not yet... But I have been looking into VGMV's.

Sounds like for a fancy cover for less popular and TBE most mecha series in general have a little mind effing even pre evangelion stuff such as Gunbuster and Robotech
If you want a series to be longer just write fanfiction!(but don't make anyone read it)

First off, just wanted to say that you guys should all consider posting your vids on youtube, it'll make it much easier for people like me to watch them without the hassle of waiting 30-45 mins on end to load one amv. With that said, I think the best anime to be made into an amv would be something romantic coz im a sucker for love. However, if the action scenes are done right with the compliment of a well chosen theme of music.. then i'd go for the action amv's (haven't seen a decent one so far) so i feel lovey dovey genres are easier to make and more enjoyable as well. ^_^
