if nobody else has said it I'll say this, not everybody has seen 5000 amvs like yourself, a cliche is not a cliche but only unto that one user (and maybe like minds). I'd put that scene in for a> myself, who might enjoy it and b> that one user that only watches MY amvs lol. I am a massochist. wouldn't want any of the disciples missing out on any of the BEST scenes in the anime! so I try to put in as many 'cliches' as I can! Besides those kind of things don't bother me. I can watch Linkinball videos till the day I die.

personally i try to avoid common scenes,but sometimes its inevitable.
while watching i dont think that overused scenes take away from the value of the amv, but if theres too many it might feel like its already been done and make me lose interest
