If you were able to open the rar, then you UnRarX should be working. I'm presuming there is something I left out of the original app folders, and so by providing you with the .dmgs, we should avoid that issue.

Nuuuuuuuuuuu.

You need a codec as close to lossless as possible. Depending your source, I recommend DV PRO NTSC/PAL. If you're not in Japan or US/Canada, you're probably a PAL.

Okay.

Umm, DiVAs being really annoying. I click on the application, then it says DiVA is optimized for use with the 3ivx MPEG-4 video codec. Would you like to Install? So I click no thanks, then I get that application suddenly quit message. Dx It was working fine before, now it's being all mean.

Install 3ivX, it won't hurt. Just don't use it to compress. I'm looking at my DiVA right now, and I have the HuffYUV option. I don't remember if I got FCP to use it or not, but since HuffYUV is what I use normally, I'd suggest you use that if you have it. I'll play around with it, and see if I can stick a HuffYUV into a .mov, and stick that into iMovie and/or FCP. I admit, I am now curious, because you should always use lossless files if you can.

Srsly, IRC may be a good choice, because now we're having a very specific, one to one conversation that is outside of the general purpose of this sticky. Not that I mind, but future readers might be confused... I'll need to talk to the mods/admins about helping me reorganize this thread into something more clear.

And, real quick. DiVA just froze up. I hit the wrong button, and when I realized it, it was frozen. Dx It wont force quit, help me please. I'll check out the other site, though.

Hmm.. .Well. I don't think I've ever had that happen to me with DiVA but sometimes FCP likes to just lock up, and then I have to wait for it to die, or just keep force quitting it. You may have to reboot, although I've never had to. I'll see about literally giving you step by step instructions after DiVA becomes available again...

And this is pretty much precisely why IRC would be a better way to go, so we can talk instantaneously. And it's not a site, per se, it's a chatroom. I suggest x-chat aqua, that's what I use. Open it up, type /server irc.synirc.org, and when you're connected, type /join #amv or /join #amv-review.
