So, like, you would have a link in the video's info page that would open the app? The video playback is handled separately already, so there wouldn't really be any benefit to having a link open the app, just to open the video player. iOS is a little different but it's essentially the same concept. Both OSs' video players are doing all the work, I'm just telling it where to get the video. That said, if you were going to search the org, why not use the app instead, since you can just watch the video there and it's easier (and perhaps faster) to navigate.
The only time where I see it useful is if someone sends you a link to the video's page and having that open in the app. I will see what I can do
