When I finish (I consider final encoding and archiving), I feel a great sense of relief but a few weeks later I feel that I need to start editing again....

I stopped making videos because of feeling like I was wasting my life on a "amatuerish" project that would never amount to anything. It didn't help that my AMVs sucked as well. I decided my time better spent playing games then yelling @ premiere or watching a progress bar move across the screen. :/

I'm hoping you find all that ironic.

I'm like SarahtheBoring...
I DESPISE, LOATHE, AND HATE the editing part...

It's the FINISHED product that I love. The only reason I edit is to finish the fukin' thing...

After posting what "Blue Sky Brings Tears" looked like in Premiere's image form, you KNOW what I'm talking about, I hope...

Of my five major, serious videos, only one of them is currently in a state that I would call "finished". I'm never truly finished with a video. I'm always trying to make improvements. I've lost count of how many times I've changed my Eva Butterfly video.

When I export a revision, though, I feel really wonderful. I look at my work of art and think, "Hey, that was made by me. I'm the man!"
Ask me about my secret stash of videos that can't be found anywhere anymore.

I've made a handful of videos, but I've only been satisfied with my first one so far. All of the others, it always seems like I find something else I could change, and extra second here, a different song, a segment from a different series right when the beat changes here . . . . but on the whole when I finish a music video, I usually don't feel anything, except maybe a bit hungry.

I can't understand why so many people feel something negative about the videos they create, or that there is no purpose to it. Granted making an AMV is not the end all be all of things, but I agree that it can be very stress relieving to be able to express yourself in this way. I also think that people can come up with as many reasons as they need to give purpose to it. Before I became interested in computers for a career I wanted to be a commercial artist. Although I am no longer going to school for commercial art, I still keep my AMV's as part of my portfolio, for either a commercial art position or computer related job. I am sure lots of other people have their uses too. I have never entered an AMV into a competition but would really like to someday. Yet another reason for me to make them. There's my 2 cents...
