Media Player 6.4.
Though, usually the player is only half the beef of the actual playback. If you're using windows, it depends entirely on what directshow splitters and decoders you have installed for different file formats, video and audio codecs.
A winamp equalizer would be nice for amvs... though the next public ffdshow will handle audio codecs too and have a built in equalizer :D so I'll just wait.
With the right directshow filters, wmp6.4 can do anything you need
I sometimes use virtualdubmod to play back because vfw is infinitely simpler and faster than directshow, which sometimes matters when I'm hogging resources.
Mplayer gets occasional use just for being so incredibly l33t (no directshow filters needed, out of the box support for everything)

you guys do realize you can play Real files in any directshow player (any wmp, bsplayer, zoomplayer) using the filter in my sig right?sporkmaster wrote:I have quicktime and Real player for said files only.

Hmm.. I just dled TCMP RC4 and it's not too bad, especially with the equalizer. Originally it screwed up my file associations and wasn't working well for me.. but now I'm not having any problems. Pretty good opensource player. The dynamic gain is a bit annoying at times, but overall not bad.
