And instead of buying another car he decided to do something online.
He likes anime, he likes music. Bam!

If you watch the FBI warnings at the beginning of the DVD/Videos, you'll see that there is a line in there about not being for public display or only being for private use- in general, that applies to CDs and other audio materials as well. Technically any time you play any licensed media in a public forum (including AMV contests, anime club meetings, etc.) you're supposed to secure permission to exhibit the material- whether that's as simple as the license-holders saying, "Sure, go ahead." or them charging you out the ass for it. In practice, in situations like anime clubs that don't charge for showings and AMV contests, it's not really worth the time and legal effort to do anything about it- and in many cases it's just serving as free advertising for the license holders.Crzy_Tetsuo wrote:Ok, I'm a bit confused on the matter. We bought the movie and cd's, or at least I bought the ones I use for AMV's. So therefore, I can do what I want with it as long as I don't make money off of it, or make copies of the DVD or CD for other people. Therefore, can't I do with it what I want. I can make AMV's if i want as long as i have the proof of purchase of both of them?
