Umm... nope. :? Just like a song can be overplayed on the radio, it can be overused in AMVs. You could make the argument that with AMVs there is the additional conceptual aspect that the anime introduces, but that doesn't make the song any less overplayed.
I disagree - if someone does something genuinely interesting and different with a song everyone is familiar with then I can give it a lot of credit. A song that is overused becomes dull because of lots of videos being the same, no because you've heard the song too much.

Well that's the way I see it at least.

I haven't made any videos yet, but I must say thaty I am intending to use linkin park songs.. not becauuse everyone esle does, but becuase I have good ideas. Sure, they are overused (over half the vids on the site are linkin park), but lets face it, their musci goes well with anime. besides, I'm going to use a song that hasn't been used before...

Sure - I think Linkin Park has a great sound - the only thing I don't like
is that hip-hop rap stuff this other frontman always does ^^

Its not that bad, i hate rap music, but since that has elements of techno and rock included in it, I can stand it. i actually really like the song Step up, from Hybrid theory EP, its cool. but the song I'm thinking of is the original exocutioner style form EP.

The reason that Linkin Park and Evanescence are used so much is because they are mostly about angst. Most people think that makes a good video. At first, it did. But, it's getting a bit old now. I'm guilty of using an Evanescence song because I thought it was a good idea. Despite the over using of these songs, they still have the power to make a good AMV.

I made a Linkin Park AMV, but it was the first one to use the song "Easier To Run" on the org.

So I wasn't THAT unoriginal.
I'm bored and you're dumb. A match made in heaven.

The problem, I've discovered, is that when you DO use an underused anime or song, no one gives you any attention for it.

Kinda makes you wonder why it's worth the effort.

Bah, I guess it's just how you look at videos. Whether as one piece comprised of several individual components or as one piece with several components mixed together. The song is always separate for me, for some reason.
