Ah boy, you can do effects using any editing program I think.
Best proof I know of is that I've faked using Adobe After Effects on quite a few of my videos and hey, I find that a refreshing compliment. It's truely not the program you use, it's the editor.
"Best Effects" video used Magix Music Maker. An unheard of video program that created eye throbbing special effects that hits with a wave of "Euphoria" *gag*.
At any rate, nobody taught me how to do effects besides Aluminum Studios' Rubberband fading tutorial. I learned about basic masking and transparency and I messed with them quite a bit and turned out this monstrosity:

You should be careful how and where you learn effects from, if you do things on your own, chances are REALLY good you'll come up with something original, then again, since everything in existance has "been done" before on an occassion, who knows?
*yes this was a shameful plug ^_^*

kwep didn't use magix music maker!
he used magix movie maker\MS Paint
and yes he did put a lot of time into this mofo...but does not mean that you can create profssionaly-made effects using something like wmm....he created most of the stuff using MS paint on a frame by frame basis(and maybe even pixel by pixel!) and he used some mattes and some motion effects
if you have a good eye you can tell that's it's not really composed too well
and i don't blame him at all..after all...syncing so much PNG's...
anyways...i'm still happy with my ae(and all the others)

Those foreign objects require a crapload of precision. Also if you don't use the right colors, the effects turn out badMaverick-Rubik wrote:He just used MS Paint to just draw out the foreign objects, all the real effects work was done in Magix... motion effects, color ramping, synching, everything. Kind of like how I used Paint Shop to just draw bars for my Happinss video... >.>
