I don't like the reasons people call for an end to the scores in opinions. Either it's someone not getting scores he thinks he deserves (irked that others are getting what he secretly wants), or he's gotten the high scores to the point where he can look down on the very idea (since removing the ranks won't change the fact that he already got his 'name out there'). I don't see why it's so hard to say "Get rid of the scoring system because no one can understand my creative genius well enough to score me properly." It's a list of popular vids, far more detailed than the star scale with all the search filters, and a great place to send new members so they can see what's hot and what's not. It does what it's intended to do.
I don't like all the emphasis on cons that have nothing to do with this site. The idea of using cons to show the best videos on the org makes no sense to me. Conventions are only related to the org if videos shown are actually hosted/listed here. Otherwise, we're talking grociery story and orchard. You don't see which tree the farmers like to eat from best by oggling the highest priced apples being sold at Walmart and Nobles a few counties away.
I don't like flames in reviews and threads, whether they're inspired by ego-driven members, or mentally-challenged members.
I don't like not having an introduction section for new members. The forum was uninviting enough when I joined, and it had 'intro/about me' and the 'ot section.' Now it feels like the same old 'OT-days-established' cliques yammering back and forth, with mini-newb clubs bouncing off one after another till half end up in the gutter. It's stale and depressing. Sneaky breezes might creep in through the cracks, but this place needs a window open to air it out. Or maybe just a neat-freak with a broom to knock the cobwebs loose. How many interesting threads have been started in the last year that didn't involve someone complaining about something we've already complained about a dozen times over? I can only think of two this year and they were started by new members.
I don't like lurking because there's nothing interesting to read on the forums, at least, nothing that doesn't get locked within a page or two. I don't make threads if I can help it, so I depend on new/fresh-minded members to start them. I don't like the fact that when I do post it's to complain about something, or to respond to someone who's complaining about something. I miss threads that were debate more than complaint and counter-complaint.
I don't like not being able to search for multi-anime videos. They're getting less common, so a search option would really be helpful. But it's been suggested to the point of being a non-issue. I don't like that.
Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the main site. I don't mind lurking and avoiding the forums so long as the main site stays intact. And I like the fact that this flame-bait thread hasn't been locked yet. ^_^

Interesting question. Well, for one, I don't like pandering (more of a problem at conventions, but it still happens here). I'm also not fond of the fact that over 50% of the videos listed on the .org use the ten most popular anime. Yes, it's all well and good that people enjoy those, but what about the thousands of other series out there ? There's amazing footage out there that rarely (if ever) gets used, and that's a shame.

I don't like the fact that if your vid is a certin genre you'll get bad remarks on it.
I hate that if its one of the most popular animes used and one of the most popular song artists used ppl will instantly call it down. It may be naruto and linkin park, but unless you watch it you'll never know how good it is.
I hate 20 word ops
I hate ops that give all 1s and leaves no contructive critizism on why.
Oh god, that black dude with the afro is always making those damn trash ass music hip hop amvs...he needs to do something with techno or rock....
.......as if I would do something like that.

Well, you can't really blame people for editing what they know and like.IcyCloud wrote:I'm also not fond of the fact that over 50% of the videos listed on the .org use the ten most popular anime. The point isn't that people should change their tastes, it's more of an issue of oversaturation. Diversity (in both anime and music) is an asset to the community, and it would be nice to see more people reach out and experiment with new footage rather than being complacent within an area of familiarity.
