Also, another note to calm people down:

Remember MediaFactory and The End of Fansubs earlier this year?

...yea
The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Even if the money from it goes to .org-choking assholes?
We didn't have the legal rights to use the music in the first place. So like hell if I care. I can still make AMVs using the music. Uploading them to the site I could really care less about.

what i ment is to boycott all of that label's artists, not necessairly just those three artists.

That's true. Now what would be the difference of sending the Stuff through a you send it file than putting it here on the org. If you make a post here or pm people asking them to watch your video and leave feedback on it. It is the samething except it isn't made massively available. Do you think they'll track that type of stuff?

Sure, you can certainly still do that.

Giving money to the label (in the form of buying CDs), though, sends a message to that label. Specifically, it tells them that what they're doing has no negative impact on their customers.

Refusing to give money to them, and putting that money elsewhere, tells that label that they're doing something wrong. This is how business works.

Now, if you never bought music in the first place, then I guess that's that. If you could care less about trying to drag AMVs and other such 'illegal art' out of illegality, then I guess that's that.

But anything along those lines means that your mental framework is in a totally different configuration.

So, well, don't call a boycott dumb simply because you're incapable or unwilling to understand what's really at stake here.

Yousendit removes your link after a week, I think. So unless you, yourself link the companies to your videos, it's not likely they're going to come bitchin'.

my videos werent even effected by this, because I have yet to buy their CDs.. and it still angers me because it effects others, and it could come down to other labels falling into the same train of thought... o.0
