Ermac, thanks for clearing that up. Simple misunderstanding, bad choice of wording :P

...

I just wonder why they're accepted at all, if they're not really welcome.

:? Had I known I never would have listed them on the .org.

...oh well. I know they're considered ghetto anyway, this just clinches it.

Perhaps but I see them as a different genre capable of a deeper level of interaction.. as graphics get better on some games even in-game graphics start to look like DVD quality, thus you could even choreograph the entire video... not to mention compile other people's footage... Say, Your working on a video for a certain game, anyone who is good at that game could also join in the making of it by sending their own experiences on that game... well that's just what I've been thinking...

I really started this thread to see what the general feeling was... I didn't really expect this much discussion... especially from alot of notable creators... I'm glad this is more of a debate and not just some flame thread where people insult each other's family lineage and whatnot...

...essentially he doesn't like VGMVs and they aren't welcome on the org (hence, "get your own damn site and call it VGMV.org" ;)) ... which begs the question why they're accepted at all.

I'm embarrassed, now. I had no idea. I mean, I know they're not on-topic exactly, but I'd always intended to step up to anime videos (which I'm working on now), and since they were accepted onto the list I figured it was an acceptable digression. Had I known the gaming stuff would be such a bastard child I wouldn't have listed them at all.

If they're taken off I'll concede without a whimper, I just wondered about the mixed message. :?

I understand all that.. whether I agree with it  ... whatever, opinions... he'll just have to take it to the grave than cuz nobody's gonna buy it

but he was saying 'amatuermusicvids' yet didn't wanna be called amatuer... therefore him changing it to fanmade inclines that he doesn't wanna be called 'fan' I's just causing trouble though ;-p he shoulda' just retracted the whole statement imo ;-p
