What kind of comments do you hate the most?

The way I think, that if you truely have NOTHING to say whatsoever in a quick comment you can at least just tell them what you're giving them. I leave opinions for everything, so usually when I do a quick comment I have nothing more to say so I either go "3" or "A 4" or something like that.

I leave extremely detailed quick comments on every video I watch, usually the same length that most people would associate with an opinion.

I've also given - oh, let's see, what's the number up to? - 87 opinions and have received a mere 37 (distributed unevenly throughout ten videos). And I had to do an exchange to get at least thirty of those. So don't give me that crap about "giving comments will get you some in return." It won't.

if you think thats what he was saying your mistaken. I believe he wasn't saying give to recieve. He was saying, "don't whinge if you don't get when you don't recieve."

Correct .... I hear people whine everyday that they don't get any comments, yet they thenselves have never bothered to give one themselves (so don't complain if you're one of the people not giving comments in the first place) ... I know the DJ does give comments .... I'm talking about the folks who never do give them, and then complain about the fact that nobody ever comments on their videos .....

I.e. the glass house theory ....

I don't know....this has happened to me a lot. I leave opinions for videos I just pick by searching (mostly new) and then the creators of it do my vids. Like when someone leaves you an opinion for your first video, you look at their profile and then pick one of their vids. It's happened to me at least 3 times.

My question is, if you leave huge quick comments, why don't you just leave an opinion?

I don't know....this has happened to me a lot. I leave opinions for videos I just pick by searching (mostly new) and then the creators of it do my vids. It's happened to me once before too. So you really can get opinion by leaving them sometimes.

Because my opinions are even longer. I'm not going to leave a substandard opinion, which is more or less how I define the QC's I give. Believe me, you're not the first person to ask that. It's just how I do things. It's either a long quick comment or an even longer opinion. No short opinions, because I believe the creators deserve better than that.

I really enjoy the comments (good and bad) that I do receive, but they are usually few and far between. I have to say, I love getting the mini-novel QCs from Jen and the like, and they are always either very helpful, or very entertaining (and you entertaining QC writers know who you are...).

Okay. Here's the "but"...

BUT, I don't expect them. Neither do I expect opinions. I will do exchanges (haven't for a while, though), or just op randomly when I can, and I think I have more fun doing that than I would waiting and watching and hoping for an opinion to be left for me.

It's all good, opinions or not.

It's all good, QCs or not.

People are watching, and (hopefully) enjoying my hobby with me.

THAT's where the fun is.

Eep, I wasn't trying to spark a debate here. I wasn't really complaining much, as I said I often don't leave comments myself, so I shouldn't complain (I'm a woman of few words, but videos I really enjoy usually get a QC). Most of my OPs have also been through exchanges. I view QCs as mildly useless, but they're still nice to get, even if they're the "OMG I luvd it ur so kool" variety.
