Awkward situations as an editor...?

I know all the awesome editors from ZiRC. Took me quite a while to realize just how "great" they were (it was literally a year until I knew that Koop had the number 1 slot on the org, and that just about everyone else was making common household vids). Puts my own videos to shame almost to the point of wanting to take them down until I make an awesome one. Even my friends know about the videos, not that they know who makes them though.

Re: Awkward situations as an editor...?
My very old video suddenly became popular last year after it made into local radio stations. But I found that a lot of ppl misunderstood that they thought the song was featured in Final Fantasy 9 when it was really fan-made. These days I see my vid being played at a few places like electronic shops, universities. Even at my workplace I seldom see officemates watching the vid. I never bothered telling them who made it even when they wondered.BasharOfTheAges wrote:Ever have someone randomly start talking up one of your creations without knowing it was you that made it?

I had that happen to me at Anime Mid-Atlantic actually. I was showing some AMVs in our hotel room and they were like do you have a video with the song Mitternacht to Vampire hunter D- Bloodlust? I was like yes, I do, why? They were like it's such an awesome video even if the audio is fuzzy. It's really good! I'm like o, ok. So i played it and one of my friends said they play that video all the time at one of their anime clubs. I was like "wow, that's my video thank you!"

AWA6, after Ugly Girls of Anime premiered, we were standing in line for the Cosplay (yes, I used to go to those -_-) and just randomly chatting with some girl who was next to us in line. She started talking about the AMV contest and complaining about how much she hated Ugly Girls of Anime. I casually said, "Yeah....I made that video." Her backtracking was awesome. "Well, yeah, you know, I guess I didn't actually hate it, it was pretty good I think, um, " etc. etc. She stopped talking to us after that.
I have no idea how to use this new forum.

You should have kept quiet for a bit longer just in case she would have said much worse stuff.Kusoyaro wrote:AWA6, after Ugly Girls of Anime premiered, we were standing in line for the Cosplay (yes, I used to go to those -_-) and just randomly chatting with some girl who was next to us in line. "If I ever met the creator of that video, I would punch him in the face."

I remember one time I was at the CSUN anime club and we were showing amvs on Ikasu's computer to pass the time. He showed Dragon Bebop Z and I remained silent while 2 girls in the back really enjoyed it.
Then this guy sits next to me and says it's the stupidest video he's ever seen.

Video of my buddy came up and they were like "mehhh looks like WMM" while clearly beeing some handy AE work then JCD's Princess Bride came up "mehhh that just probably dosnt have a gf" then my video came on "mehhh thats not even a music video wtf is that..." then we all left the room crying after a ulead video beat us all ;_;

Conneko 2004, the guy controlling tickets in the entry had a laptop where he currently watched my Overdrive video on. I went on to him and asked something like
"Ah that's the way you pass your time?"
-"Oh comeon, there's no better way to do so, look at it, it's a great video" "Well, thanks"
-"Hm?"
"I made that"
-":O"
