If it isn't I've only got one year's left of editing in me before I have to rely on the org's pension plan.

Me and godix got into a discussion about this on irc earlier. Not really about the "too old to edit" thing, but just about age perception in general. At 26, I don't feel old at all. Not even when hanging out with people far younger than me. I would say it's because I don't act my age, but who's to say what a 26 year old is SUPPOSED to act like? Where's the manual for that? Most of the people my age act the same way I do. Are we all simply fundamentally flawed in our maturity level or something? Just doesn't make sense to me. It's certainly possible that it's because we're just living in a new era where everybody is getting younger. So the perception becomes skewed when you have the old way of thinking amongst the new way of being... If that makes any sense.

So, no, I absolutely don't think you can be too old to partake in a hobby that you genuinely enjoy. The idea that anybody would say that it's not okay is just ridiculous and shows a certain level of ignorance.

I myself am almost twice your years and, if you will take a little advice from one of the ancients,

don't ever "act your age."

Instead, always, always, be true to yourself.

For example, if you should find yourself at 49 years old, walking through a hotel lobby at midnight yelling, "Werewolves!" at the top of your lungs then, if this is what you want to be doing, by all mean, proceed.

Act my age? Yeah, sure. Maybe, and only maybe mind you, when I'm dead.
Just a stupid adult who never grew up.
a quote from one of my favorites. Would make a fitting epitaph imho.

If all of you people act under your age, what's it say about me who acts like he's triple his age? I'm the outlier of a already deviated group.

I like this quote.
"When you grow older, you don't stop playing, it's only those who stop playing that ever grow old"

You know what I just realized? I got far more crap about my hobbies and interests when I was younger than I do now, but those same hobbies and interests are associated with people who aren't as old as I am.

What the HECK?!!

Maybe everyone's just given up on me? They figure if I'm still into that stuff now, then I'm doomed to a life of abnormalcy? I think I liked it better when I was being harassed about my pastimes...
