Yeah, the org is sort of like trial by fire, whereas boochsack is trial by pillows or something. Sure, there are good editors on boochsack, the same as there are bad editors here. I don't think boochsackers should be discouraged from joining the org. People that are really passionate about the hobby will deal with "people being mean and critical", learn from it, and stay. Those who can't take con crit and the occasional flame will head back to boochsack. It's pretty simple really.

So people on the org personally know everyone on the tube with the capacity to learn? No. What about people who like amvs enough to be great, but just don't know any better because YT is where they found amvs and it's all they know of? Operating FTP is quite far removed making an amv. I know perfectly fine (new) editors who gave up on the org because the whole system was too stressful after they broke their back trying to make a good amv. They went to the tube because it makes more "sense".

Let me just say, improving the system is not putting up a "Come on in!" flyer. We're not advertising, we're just making the process easier for people who have come on their own and want to upload an amv.

This whole question is retarded. "should we improve and streamline the process, making it better for everyone involved, or should we try our darnedest to kill the hobby and make sure out numbers pitter off till there's nothing left?"

True as that may be, trying to use FTP as a filter system even though it has nothing to do with the ability or passion of making amvs makes absolutely no sense.

Vivaldi - the entire conversation isn't solely around using FTP or HTML interface or not, there are other aspects to bringing the Tubepeoples over here O.o such as the crit people will recieve...

I know of a whole studio group that doesn't even list there videos here anymore because "people are mean to them"... or at least the majority of them don't...

Yeah... But a lot of Youtube noobs think that "if you have an AMV hosted on the Org, you're pro."

yea the whole "I only put my best amvs on the org" mentality has always baffled me O.o or that you have to be "pro" to post anything here... I never got it, but then again I joined as a complete newb. I have my first amvs on this site. Although, I joined just before you tube started going around... The org seemed like the natural place to host my videos.

I didn't start just putting up certain amvs until recently. I used to put up everything, bad editing, low quality, fan subs and all. But, now I don't put up everything I make. Some of what I make when I'm bored I don't normally put up here, or my yaoi/slash vids, or vids made for specific people that I don't share even on boochsack.
I think people do tend to think that the org is supposed to be for the best amvs, and not that it's supposed to be a full catalog of existing videos....hence the "I only put my best amvs" thing.
