Re: Has the org changed you?
The org did no change me as a person.
It did change my views on amvs and how I edit them.
I wish I could be an asshole like everyone else

Well I think that the change depends on the
person ...
I feel like I've changed, you must decide whether for good or evil, and it does not change who I am and I will be, I am proud to be Latino and I'm proud to use music in Spanish in my AMVs ... but I'm more proud that you appreciate those things, you are the best.
I am the same Megamom forever ...

It hasn't changed who I am ... but I can't shake the feeling it changed who I could have been. Not sure if that's a good thing or not ...not sure if that makes any sense either.

I think so, specifically in the 'criticism' area. I have found the negative much easier to swallow and the constructive easier to give (I hope so anyway. I've never had to op one of my own videos ).
I addition, I now have a deeper understanding of the type of art that will just blow me away and why. I've found this latter point has had a big influence on own artistic philosophy significantly.

Re: Has the org changed you?
In terms of making more AMVs, no. In terms of improving technically, yes, heaps.
I'd also mellowed out from the language - my reaction is now more "LOLZ" rather than like the first time I got feedback from the forums.
But I really do appreciate the technical help - not studying computer-related subjects in detail, I do get stuck.
Also make sure I support the artists and production companies to some degree, because AMVs here are taken much more seriously.
And I'd like to think of myself as the asshole's asshole.

So as I read these replies it's really no wonder why we all need to be seperated from people out in "the real world". We are assholes.

Re: Has the org changed you?
I was a nobody when I came to the org... and I still am Outside of the org, I don't think anyone gives a shit about who I am. The only things the org has really contributed towards my life would be:
1) I've become more trusting in others as I get to know more people (it's been both good and bad IMO)
2) I now have some of the best friends I've ever had
3) I've become far more sociable then I was
4) I probably wouldn't know jack shit about video editing
Life changing? Maybe, but who's to say I wouldn't have had the same experiences with a different hobby.

Re: Has the org changed you?
Has the org changed me? More than any other single thing in my entire life! I moved to an entirely different state to live with people I met through the org, and so that I could attend school with them. I gave a speech at a wedding of two members that met and got MARRIED (it doesn't get much more life-changing than that!) just this past weekend.
Because I got a computer solely for the purpose of making an AMV, the org was the first major website I was familiar with, and so it defined how I viewed every other site, and the internet in general.
As for personality-wise, I'm pretty much the same, though waaaay more outgoing. The friends that I made through the org were encouraging, I found I had support through them and could be myself. The things that I say or do now are the same things I would've wanted to say or do before, I was just too timid. Now, I just do it. I've really got little to lose by being myself around people that already accept me that way.
