and finally the best method
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/search/
type in random shit and see what you get if you see mostly DBZ or Naturto in your request try again.

While none of these are perfect they're at least updated far more consistently.

The first two methods are near worthless. All the recommended amvs guarantee is that the video won't be absolute shit. Since it only takes one person to post a vid, there's absolutely no quality control. The start scale is the exact, same, thing as the top 10%, except that most of the people who rated the vids don't care and just click a random number.

All the really good amvs I've found, have been through 1. top 10% 2. Announcements forum 3. VCAs (not just the winners, all the nominations, you could argue that it's no different then the recommended amvs forum, but I think there's some key differences.)

So why is it so much worse in your eyes?
I never said it was worse, I was just saying it's just not only friends jerking when it comes to star ratings/opinion scores.

Generalization is fun. Not all the videos have high star ratings/opinion scores from friends jerking. There's also anime fanatics who'd rate highly because of a series, music fanatics who rate highly because of the music, and those who rate highly despite the quality of the AMV, plus a combination of the above (friend jerking included). There's also people who actually rate high because the video is actually good. Sometimes you gotta wade through shit to find something good.

Sephiroth wrote:And as stated before alot of videos don't get ops, vids at least get stars as long as they're downloaded which is a more general representation of the overall opinion of the users of the site, the one with very few inputs or the omputs of everyone?

Not that you'll agree with the result but hey your looking for a tool to tell you what to watch, they're all flawed in the end. Even with that stars servs the consensual opinion of the whole.

also MANCATPENIS
and if we get streaming that will do the exact same thing to stars that stars did to ops :/ making all of your advise worthless. Nya-chan, I think the best method is just look through the recomendations and deal with any 'friend jerks'. You'll find a lot less there than you will in the top 10% or even announcements and here is why. lurkers and Europeans. They largely stay out of the recomended section, and while lurkers don't post they will if their friend is releasing an amv, Euro's also tend to show their bias as they have their own little community ><.

We love the Euro's though ^.^ don't get me wrong, and some are unbiased, but it's just their culture since Europe is made up of many distinct cultures in a small area unlike America so it's easy to become biased (not really mean, just not exactly fair kinda' like women's rights) growing up like that.

Yeah, I know what you speak about.

After all, I am right from the middle of this Europe thing you speak about.

Sturgeon's law would suggest otherwise, but it is useful to actually download and rate things from the random link to help out with keeping the star scale more honest and provide more data to the tailored recommendations lists.

There's a recommendations list?
