The first two methods are near worthless. All the recommended amvs guarantee is that the video won't be absolute shit. Since it only takes one person to post a vid, there's absolutely no quality control. While none of these are perfect they're at least updated far more consistently.

All the really good amvs I've found, have been through 1. top 10% 2. Announcements forum 3. VCAs (not just the winners, all the nominations, you could argue that it's no different then the recommended amvs forum, but I think there's some key differences.)
