Newbies: How to make your first AMV

well friend done it he download program but the only thing is i dont know the name if just find the prgram will use it

Is it okay to use Windows movie maker? In that past I have been making orca and dolphin music videos with this, but people say it is really really bad, personally I find it really easy to use, anyone have any recomendations to video makers?

:p it's fine to use windows movie maker. it has all the basic tools needed for making videos. there may be other programs that suit you better though.

How do I know if my first video is bad?
I made two, well... one if you don't count the first. The first one was made before I had any movie files. The second one I think is pretty good, but I don't know for sure if that's just my own opinion or not...
I saw that emerald_fire2065 made some music videos when I looked at her site and I tried to make one myself.

read through the guides relevant to your editing needs, and if you get stuck anywhere, you can search the forums to see if anyone has had the same problem, or make a post in the help forums to request help.

Hi.
Im a n00b and i have a few questions.
First off, I'm just gonna go right ahead n sey that I didn't read all the posts in this forum cuz there's like 27 pages and i dont have time to read em. so i dont know if my questions have already been answered.
I've only made 1 amv and i personally find it crappy but hey it was my first try, anywaiz, i used clips from all over the net and i used the program WMM to put em all together. and being new to this i understand that there are other programs that are way better than WMM, like some of u mentioned.

Ok i just need somebody to elaborate some stuffs for me. I understand that DVD ripping is way better w/ better quality etc. How exactly do i rip off of DVD's? I only have a computer (XP) and some DVD's so how do i get clips from DVDs straight to my comp? What programs do i need? Where can i buy them/ download them? I need like a professional help/tutorial with this cuz I know nothing about computer/ electronics. I need step by step instructions on how to rip them, stuff like that. can someone help me pls. i really wanna make more AMVs but im this close to giving up on this sh*t.
