hes got a point, but yeah maybe it is your style. i know if i worked in AE too long, i'd end up doing that as well.....

i edit with 2 layers.

one for my basic editing.


and one to play the same track in reverse at 200% speed as an overlay

I shouldn't matter how many layers there are as long as the editor accomplishes their goal. I usually have about 4-6 layers in in premiere and I thats only for simple stuff. It's easier to work with and lets me move things around easier.
