I just finished a Macross TV video that will be showing at AWA... it is surprising not that many have been done, but while doing my video I was thinking to myself how I remembered the animation looked so much better way back in the day hehe. Eventually I will be re-mastering my old Do You Remember Love video as well.ErMaC wrote:Macross is listed as having only 3, although there are 4 as one (OtakuOutpost's one day more) is listed under the full title of Super Dimesion Fortress Macross. Conversely, Robotech has 31 although I think there are a couple duplicates in there.

Here's something for all the people who hate Digisubs...
Maid in Hanaukyo
Onegai Teacher
Chobits
The quality for these 3 in digisub format is SOOO fookin' high. Don't give me no crap that "I don't want to have to edit the subtitles!" The solution is quite simple really. Don't do a lip synchin' video. Nobody likes flapping lips in most amvs anyway. This is coming from someone who tricked people into thinking he had the RAWs for Hanaukyo Maids.
Others:
Samurai Deeper Kyo, Read or Die, Tatoon Master, Birdy the Mighty, there's too many.
Artists should be here too. It's SO EASY to be original in terms of combinations. I think I'm the only one using a No Mercy song. (although some of you probably don't like them. I don't care... )
DJ Samma and DJ Yanou. Paulina Rubio. Yes they are "relatively" new. But if you look, they're not exactly the most listed on the site like say I don't know, Linkin' Bark?
Thanks to all the DBZ Bark users, it's VERY easy to get a combination of anime to music that nobody's done before. My favorite years of music were the late 90's. Check them out!

I ALWAYS use underused anime for my videos... of course, some of those series aren't underused anymore, and I actually get comments from people saying it's used too much (aka Love Hina)
My video usage: How many amvs when I premeire (to my knowledge)
--------------------------
Love Hina: 2 released & 1 that was beta and never released
Vandread: 1 released
Noir: 2 released
fullmetal.panic!: 1 released
eX-Driver: 1 released with only eX-Drier 3 released with various.
On looking back at the current database, it's amazing how many videos weren't in the database before that are suddenly in there and apparently premiere years before mine - in some cases, before the anime in question was aired in Japan
Anyway, I agree that RoD should be used more. RahXephon is another good one to add to that list

Well this one has 13 AMVs made to it. But only 2 are downloadable. That would be Now and Then, Here and There (Ima Soku ni Iru Boku). I'd think it was pretty available since I rented the DVDs at Blockbuster. It's a really great series too. I think it could make some great vids.

Not necessarily. Truly great videos are enjoyable whether you've seen the series or not. They should be able to speak for themselves and hopefully get people interested in seeing the series they represent.ErMaC wrote: but no one will use it. Why? Because if you want to impress people it's a heck of a lot easier to do it with a series they've SEEN. You aren't gonna see a video win a contest at some convention using Pretty Combat Communist Rika-chan (google it).
As an example, how many people here have seen, or even heard of, EVERY anime used in Odorikuruu? Probably not many. But it's one of the most popular videos on the site. True, doing an obscure series-specific video would be trickier, but I've seen plenty of videos to series I've never seen that I still enjoyed, simply because the video did a good job of capturing the "feel" of the show.
So, I'd hope that people DO make videos using underrated series, because hopefully it'll help give the shows more attention.
