The first AMVs I saw were some RealVideo Sailor Moon ones I found somewhere on the web in mid-1997, one set to the "Tales from the Crypt" opening, one to the opening of Miami Vice, one to something by Jars of Clay, and two to "Carry On" from the DiC dub of SM. I think I still have some of them on a CD somewhere.
The first videos I saw that I knew were AMVs were Kusoyaro's from 2000 and before (Kyoto Kombat, Love & Hate in Tokyo III, Glory of Love [I still love this one], Ugly Girls of Anime, Heaven, and Liberali Fatali), after one of the other officers of my college's anime club posted the link in the admin mailing list.

it was an MSI - Invader zim amv by some guy named Qwert ... i odn't know if he's on the org or if he's just independant (or <gasp> opperates out of teh ghetto!)
but it was a pretty good AMV for "bring the pain" ... i wish i could remember what i did with it ... because of that video i ended up watching Flying crackers "hundred beats per minuite" video which inturn got me interested in FLCL, because of FLCL i found AD's "Shamless Rock Video" and in the comments tag there was this places url ... the rest is all history ...

Very First AMV was OMG-Queen-Forever found on Kazza while looking for Queen songs. I clicked over to everything and this came up in the search. My reaction was..OMGWTF! I have to find more of these! (It was also my introduction into the anime world as well ^^) After I d/led a couple of other OMG vids (that I can't remeber at this time and not sure they're even on the org) I found a link to a Nashville, TN anime club site with amv links..and found the org. Upon getting here..I had no clue on what to look for..so I started looking up vids by songs I liked. This is the video that started me on the path of the Trigun fangirl and this vid (no..it's not the remastered one..this is the one I saw first) and this vid are what cemented my love for this show, as well as getting my involved in AMV making.
I've seen alot of others but these three are what really got me into anime and AMVs.
