apparantly no one reads mine either. Or someone probably would have commented on my usage of a program that Describes DVDs instead of Ripping them

Or maybe I'm just not important enough to be worth the trouble

Whoa.. most of you people have kickass (kool) computers.. but my friend has a custom built PC with 1000 mb of ram (1 gig of ram) he plays Max Payne 2 on it runs smoothy , and unreal tournament 2004.

Max Payne 2 runs smooth on my computer and it is quite capable of running DOOM3 when it finally comes out. The video card comes with HL2, which I'll get whenever they finally release it. :)

:P

want to realy put your video card to the test? try and run Final Fantasy 11 online with 1600x1600 resolution. There isn;t a mainstreem card available that will run it 100% smooth ;p Not even the 9800 XT.

I made this just barely a week ago.

Athlon XP 3200+
512 MB DDR400 RAM (gimme a week)
120 GB HD
Geforce FX5200
DVD/CDRW 16x52x52x32

Still came in under $1500 so I'm not complaining. It'll be nice to have some decent hardware around for a change. I might actually get some videos out O_O!

Well, I have a 1337 Dell (LOL), heres my hardware and software specs

2.53 Ghz P4
512 PC800 RDRAM
160 GB Total (Two 80 GB HD)
Geforce4 TI 4200 64 MB (overclocked)
Pioneer A06 4X DVD Burner
19" Flat CRT

Vegas 4.0
AVIsynth
Virtual Dub

Surprisingly I can run almost anything with a decent framerate. Even FarCry!

On a side note, the Radeon 9800XT is old news. Nvidia's 6800 Ultra and ATI's X800 (or 10800) are the cards of the future. Check out tomshardware.com for benchmarks and info on these new cards. However, you need huge power supplies (ie: 500W+) to even use the cards; my Dell has 250W :-(, so I can't use them. Both these cards are TWICE AS FAST as the 9800XT!!!!! So start saving up, since you'll need these puppies to Run Half-Life2 and Doom3 at max graphic settings.

That is all ^_^

well I was refering to cards you can actually go out and buy now ;p
I don't think these are mainstream yet. Correct me if i'm wrong.... I have yet to see them in the stores.

Oh and the X800 runs on current powersupply needs, just the Geforce needs the elaberate power supply ;p (familiar story though, nothing new when conserning Nvidia)
