I personnally have a lot of respect for female creators, don't know why exactly, I just do.

I think gender is only really importent when you start comunicating with someone on a more one to one basis, like being in a project or beta testing or whatever. In that situation you tend to pick it up from subtle clues. The only person I know that I have mistaken after geting to know them was Rose4Emily back when he had a really sappy avatar .

The impression that I get is that girls are more likely to be into (and make) shounen-ai videos and those with lots of bishounen eye candy and the like.
We could try to find out but Arigatomina would skew the hell out of the data. :P

I would be willing to bet that the "5 minutes of Goku punching things poorly synched to an angsty song" videos are even more disporportionatly male created.

But really, guys get short shrift a lot of the time. As this site shows, guys are perfectly capable of making things based on "feelings" and "emotion" with nary an explotion in sight.

There are definitely more male editors than female, that's pretty much true all over the entertainment industry when you're talking technical stuff.

Also, I know a lot of girls that are more into editing slash or tv show fandom vids over anime.
Men should be like Kleenex. Soft, strong and disposable.

But I don't know for sure if that's in fact the case.

Perhaps, but you'll find some of us gals who have yet to make a video based on eye candy at all. I tend to go with either drama or twisted comedy myself. In any case, I don't think gender plays any role in whether the editor is good at what they do.

Heck, I vaguely remember somebody mistaking me for a guy back when we had the OT boards

Haven't made any of those yet. But I might attribute that to the fact that my sense of humor is a bit more warped than other girls'. Also, LadyDX is another exception to this; her stuff is pretty action/drama oriented.
Somehow I don't think Abracadabra
quailifies for shounen-ai 8-)

Also lets not forget MeriC if we're going to name some female editors here...

I remember us running into you but we never got introduced. I was told later "That was Bakadeshi". But I'm afraid I won't recognize you if we meet again.

Definitely. You can't blame all female editors because a few of us are pervs who make a lot of pervy vids.

Even among female editors, us shonen ai creators are *far* outnumbered by the infinite InuyashaxKagome fangirls. Just check the stats for that fangirl-dominated pairing alone. That's not including the female editors who do various things like action and comedy and avoid romance altogether. Among female editors on this site, I think I can honestly say the ones who make shonen ai are few and far between.
I would be willing to bet that the "5 minutes of Goku punching things poorly synched to an angsty song" videos are even more disporportionatly male created.
No contest there. :P Makes me wanna be a guy, so I can do more mindless muscle-guy kicking butt vids.
