Kinda like how they want compensation for the unauthorized use of thier music? Which is, last time I checked, a much larger industry.

Face it folks, even though you may rationalize it anyway you want, we have been stealing from musicians and anime companies since the day someone put 2 VCR's and a stereo together and threw in dubbed Captain Harlock tapes and AC/DC's Back in Black. You may say that the anime companies like us, and that we're too small for the musicians to care about, but it doesn't change the stealing factor. And as most of you know, if you stay in the game long enough, you've got to lose. And once you've lost, there's no way back. So what do we do?

We drop the hosting. If we do this, we are losing what made this site explode with the trash heap of videos it's been hoarding the last 2 years. So some kid from Hoboken NJ loses the hosting for his brand new Naruto/New-Found-Glory mashup. Cry me a river. I lose the personal $300 I've dumped into this bitch. Boo-hoo. There is CHEAP hosting waiting for the taking out there. We need to decentralize. It allows the people that are serious about this to stay in the game, and shows the 1-time-I-made-a-vid-then-people-laughed-at-me-so-I-left to the exit door.

No-one is going to ram down any doors, raid any corporate buildings, kick and suited asses or do any sort of damage to this beast this country has allowed itself to create. You will sit and quiver and hope they don't subpoena Phade's userlist->IP-resolves and slap you in the crotch with a chunky fine. It. Could. Happen.

For now though, sit back, relax, enjoy the corporate show, and move to the usenet list if shit hits the fan.
