Awkward situations as an editor...?

XD Bombs and anthrax. That's silly.
I know as an editor that perhaps my weirdest situation was when I received a quick comment that follows as such:
"These things won't get you banned from the org. To get banned from the org you need to tell people their video looks is a seizure inducing piece of donkey cum and the only reason anyone likes their videos is that they have a pair of tits so the horny little fanboy who's last rejection was when his hand went to sleep while masturbating will suck up like a politician trying to get elected. That's a sure way to get banned. Trust me, I know."
OMG! WTF?! That was the most disgusting thing to read when looking at my comments. And the worst part is, the quick comments are anonymous so I can't report this person. Nor can I delete quick comments I don't want to look at. I fear for my life every time I look at my quick comments now.
Now that's awkward!

Video of my buddy came up and they were like "mehhh looks like WMM" while clearly beeing some handy AE work then JCD's Princess Bride came up "mehhh that just probably dosnt have a gf" then my video came on "mehhh thats not even a music video wtf is that..." then we all left the room crying after a ulead video beat us all ;_;
Sadly nothing like this ever happened to me, then again no one actually watches my videos

This is par for the course, I suppose, but I showed up in my graphic design class wearing my "Got Anime?" t-shirt one night, attracting the attention of the instructor who thought it was really neat. This led to an eventual revelation that not only am I into anime, I "do" AMVs (or at the very least, am "doing" them). I received a terribly weird look from my instructor, not to mention stopped conversation in the entire room. Why is it that being an anime fan is OK in some circles, but making AMVs is considered just going too far??
And then there's the classic, "Why did they make that?" question from someone who's never seen an AMV and has just been shown an awesome example of its kind. /me shrugs, replying "For fun," and receives an "You think that's FUN?? What a freak!" look in return. What the heck?? Yeah, right, we make AMVs because we hate anime, hate music, hate video editing and are being held at gunpoint in front of our computers. There's no way we'd subject outselves to AMVing if we didn't get some kind of pleasure out of it, you moron!

I'v never had that happen, but if u wana talk about awkward situation, When i was editing the scene where asuka sucks off toji, my mom walked into my room, i was acting all casual cuz i was doing something else at the time, but she kept glancing at my screen, later i realized that was y ... not like i could explain it with out it sounding worse "No mom, she wasn't REALLY sucking his penis, i just MADE it look she was! Honest!" -_-;
(btw, isn't it weird how people who don't even like anime will like AMVs?)

Family's interesting like that. I'm working on 2 vids at the moment, mostly because a few family members have noticed I seem to have trophies and awards and free DVDs and the like but they haven't actually seen the video in question. I'm not too keen on showing them for some reason.

Re: Awkward situations as an editor...?
to this first one..i've actually had somebody steal one of my vids and then show it to me and say they amde it XDBasharOfTheAges wrote:I was talking with one of my roomates on AIM the other day and he divulged to me that some of his girlfriend's friends were really into AMVs and they ended up talkign about what they liked and what they had seen reciently. One of the topics of conversation turned out to be the last video I made - so my roomate ended up telling them "yea, my roomate made that" and they responded somewhere between disblief (thinking he was just screwing with them) and amusement. I'm thinking this could have been a lot more awkward if I was actually there.
So my question to you is this: Ever have someone randomly start talking up one of your creations without knowing it was you that made it? Or maybe they knew you were kinda involved in the hobby and asked if you'd seen this or that and it was actually something you did?
