not announcing amvs?

I'm with requiett on this one. If I don't think the vid is good enough that at least one stranger on the forum (someone I can't pm) would be interested, there's no point announcing it here. Most of the feedback I get is from random downloaders interested in the video and not the creator. I don't think that's a bad thing.

I'll announce mine, just because the mechanism is there by which to do it by, so I should take advantage of it.
I also will make a huge fuss because (assuming the video gets made by the end of '06, no guarantees) it was three years in the making and survived two near-fatal HD failures. Otherwise, I'll just cross my fingers and hope it gets noticed some other way...
You know, there's some people out there who would probably PAY to have their AMVs advertised at a-m-v.org. This might be a good way to solicit more "donations." It could work like the banners, kind of, except at the bottom or side of the main page. I wouldn't pay...but I'm sure some people would if the price was right. Heck, auction off the space! How fun would that be?

lol, silly SOAD.... announced amvs don't equal big hits!! .... just mass ignorance.... ;DSOAD2k8 wrote:I never announce my AMVs. I am not trying to get giant ammounts of hits. if people want to see a specific kind of AMV, and it just so happens that mine fits the criteria in the Super Search, then so be it.

Most of the feedback I get are from fellow journal junkies -_- out of 40+ ops I think I've had like 1 or 2 ops from random people out of FIVE+ YEARS! lol.... if I didn't announce my videos I'd NEVER get ops!! (ok a few are from me asking or as thanks <or> for oping their's... but I'm saying if I didn't advertise I'd NEVER get ops) Coarse all my vids are from niche animes like Voices of a distant star, Ayashi No Ceres or NATHAT and most recently fansubbed series'.Arigatomina wrote:I'm with requiett on this one. I think it's probably a good thing that they are never announced all the time. With the sheer amount of videos on this site, such would result in an absolute flood of the announcements forum. Most of which would be the same old Naruto videos continuously showing up again and again. If you want to announce, fine, but I don't think it would be for the best if every new video were announced there.
