Why do people put credits in their videos?

i put credits that way i can chew out people on myspace and that other site for when they ask me what the name of the song/artist/anime is...

okay im just kidding, i just always thought noting my sources was the "right" thing to do...

i usually perfer soundless short intro/outros...

unless they are done well... there were a few amvs that had outros that highly ammused me and made me want to watch the end of the vid credits.. (note: the intro for the amv before halloween, the intro for jihaku, the outro for skittles)

i think meps should have credits due to all the questions that get asked after:

who made such and such clip?
what anime is that?

ect.
