Ok, Ed and I hav been talking all morning trying to get this figured out. Ed has some stuff to deal with regarding frame rate, and hes going to make a post about that soon (if he hasnt alread). In the mean time, I discovered something kind of interesting about the School house rock today. It seems that back in August, Disney released a remake of the entire original series on DVD, with ALL 46 songs (and a whole bunch of other stuff too.) Which is cool and all, but its important to us for a number of reasons, first off all, its only 20 dollars (10 dollars CHEAPER than the soundtrack!) second the sound is higher quality and it will translate very simply to DVD saving Ed some encoding time, third, though it may be just a wee bit off from any downloaded audio file, the odds were that the soundtrack was going to be the same way. So Ed and I decided that it would be best if I simply bought the DVD and distributed the audio based on that. Heres the deal, Im still going to encourage you to edit your song, because some of these tracks have REALLY lame sections. However that will mean that you will have to re-output the audio and get that too either Ed or me. That may sound kind of difficult and cryptic (especially to some of the newbies) but its not something we will have to deal with for a bit longer. One of the other side effects is, unless you want to try to cut out a section of the audio from a downloaded source, and then try again when the DVD audio comes around, you should probably hold your digital scisors back and wait for the DVD audio.
In summary, if you are not planing on cliping your song, Im still recomending that give it a go with the downloaded audio. But remember, we are under almost NO pressure of time on this project, so do it right instead of doing it fast.
Thank you ^_^

ohh so heres the dealies :O
you guys can download the stuff on kazaa and use it awhile, but NOT before I post this nifty little thing which will convert the mp3 to wav and resample from 23.976 to 24fps (gimme a few minutes)

as for specs. The projects must be submitted at full resolution 720x480 24 fps video. You will NOT need to submit audio unless you choose to edit parts of those damn repetitive songs out, in which case you'll have to send us your uncompressed edited version of the song with the finished video.
For editing, do like the guides say and IVTC your video and then speed up to 24fps with assumefps(24). I'll have all this stuff and any more info that might be needed on the website when ashton sets it up. Anyway no rush with any of it really, just a heads up to those who want to start now.

I'll post again in a few minutes with the program you'll need if you're going to use downloaded music to get a head start.

Not only are you allowed to, you are encouraged to as well. Most of the point of all this is so that we can get the audio situation right. This is probably the LEAST technicly tricky of all of the projects so far, so Ed and I are kind of lucky. As for you, Ed will be posting shortly with what you need to do if you are going to Download your source/want to get started right away. BTW, is that what your trying to do?

Nah, I have the DVD source I need. ^_^ That paragraph of technical stuff just flew over my head though.
