I think a place like YT where low-mid quality AMVs are more common is easier for someone who doesn't have the skill to making a stunningly good AMV. A lot of AMVs on here tend to be made with expensive editing programs while the videos on YT tend to be just put together with Windows Movie Maker.

I think this is a good place to learn how to make videos better but YT might be an easier audience for an AMV.

I just wish I had some tracks that wouldn't get muted. I've tried to put up two videos on YT and both were muted because of the issue with WMG.

They were both sort of practice videos though.

A good majority of videos on YT are made with WMM but I've seen videos made with higher quality programs too.

I just think it's personal preference on which site someone spends their time at.

As for the WMG issue, I would still upload those muted videos here and announce them here... you can even just put the video on YT without the sound with a link to your video on here. If someone really wants to watch, they can get it off of your link.

That's a good idea about posting the link to its profile here. The only issue I can see with that, would be that it may draw too much attention to this site from people that shouldn't be here.

That's how I found this site actually, lol. Someone on YT posted a video, then a link to their video on the description that led to this site. It's not a bad idea especially if it's another AMV maker who is really wanting to learn more and wants to talk to other AMV makers who are not on YT.


Every website will have dumb asses who come in and spam and be complete jerks, it's inevitable with almost every website.

imo, yt is less intimidating because of the variety of skill. There are the people who just take an episode and put it to a song, people who do slideshows, and people who can make good AMVs. From what I've seen here, it's all Whisper Of The Beast quality stuff (that's an exaggeration, but it's very intimidating for super beginners such as myself). But the community here is far superior from what I've seen so far
