Re: Curiosity
Shin is my last name and I guess people started calling me Shinnie as a nickname, although I had plenty of other nicknames like shinpants, shindig, shinpads, shindog....shindick...basically shin + anything = a nickname, but Shinnie was predominately used. The numbers eventually came in when I thought Shinnie on its own was a little too plain but having a name like Shinnie1 sounds like a product lineup so I added an extra 0 in between. Even numbers always felt more comfortable for me so I skipped 01 and went to 02 and eventually came to 04. My older brother always tells me, "4 is an unlucky number in Korea, it symbolises death bla bla bla", so being the superstitious person he is, I decided to keep 04 just to piss him off.

Re: Curiosity
I was a pretentions nerd (I wasn't just happy with infinity, I had to square it too).
Everywhere else I'm known as ShinoMatrix. I decided I wanted to be separate from that my AMV related things since, well, yeah, pretentious. Wish I didn't though... annoying having to change around now between these two usernames.

Re: Curiosity
Blue has been my favorite color for a while so I just took the word "Cyan" and added the "na" to femme it up a little.

1) It just a given name sounds cool and is not really "borrowed" from anyone. I randomly came up with it, checked against Japanese dictionary, and sure enough it was a valid given name.
2) It's Japanese and therefore it appealed to my weaboo sensibilities of 9 years ago, yet it was also not a name anyone in the anime community would associate with a really well-known character, writer, person etc. - therefore, it stands out and people know that I'm THE Otohiko, not the Otohiko named after that other Otohiko guy
3) Briefly before I adopted it, I went by Otoko no Hito ("man" - literally "male person" - in Japanese), and Otohiko sort of sounds like a shortened form of it.
4) Minor influence on it was "Otohime", a Love Hina character (it's actually a surname in her case). I kinda like her, in part because she is incredibly spaced out most of the time. And so am I - soooo spaced out, it's not even funny. "Otohiko" is like, my masculine impression of that or something.
5) Kanji: Oto = "sound", "noise", "music"; Hiko = standard male name ending (means something like "lad"). So, "Sound Lad", "Noise Lad" or "Music Lad" - whichever you prefer - is totally an apt description for me.
Or something.

The Birds are using humanity in order to throw something terrifying at this green pig. And then what happens to us all later, that’s simply not important to them…

Re: Curiosity
Lets see.
I was in Art Class in High school the teacher asked up front and said this.
" Okay does any one here have any alias' that they go by?"
My stupid self spoke up and said.
" Yes they call me Sanchez."
Thus the name began there.

LeapofFaithFate
I was into Fate/Stay Night when I picked up my username.
I would change my name, but everyone would still call me Leap/Jumpoffacliff/etc.
