I saw a bunch of DBZ videos at my high school's anime club and then one day they played Kevin Caldwell's Phantom of the Opera video. Ever since that day I have obsessively upgraded my computer, posted on these forums, and tried my hand at some editing myself. I really need to start again... I've been slacking for over a year now... :/

Hmmm, tought to recall, it was back at AX 98 and I saw so many videos I don't really recall what was first. Nic's Super rad comes to mind and so does Anthony Bennet's El Hazard to Tubthumping. And of course a few of Kevin Caldwell's stuff. It's really difficult to remember what was first.

Got into this whole scene through FF rpg music videos. So I guess the first one was probably Feanor's "Final Fantasy 8 - Silence" (gotta love those straightforward titles... *g*), set to Delerium's "Silence", and downloaded via that wonder that was iMesh.
All I can say is thank God I found those FF vids on iMesh, or I'd never have found my way to the org, never found real AMVs and never gotten into anime itself. Feanor - it's all your fault!

Some random video with FFVIII and the Titanic theme, I think. For some reason, I kept going.
There was a site that had game music MP3s (which I came for) and AMVs (which I wandered into), so I saw about a dozen there - Come Out and Play, She Blinded Me With Science...? - and then I started searching.
The first one that made a major impact on me, like WOW COOL, was "Peace & Love Inc." by Kestrel. Which is a bit funny, because I think it was just a minor video done for the hell of it and not a major work. But that's how it goes, I guess.
c. 2000-2001. Even I feel old reading this thread, and I'm a newb.
