They're available on my HD right up to the point where I need more space. Which means no, they aren't. Although there's at least one beta of my total failure as an action vid editor around somewhere.shumira_chan wrote:Are these available anywhere?godix wrote:Recently I've been doing weird experimental crap, at least experimental for AMVs at least.

Wouldn't it be feasible to forgo the contest part altogether andhackerzc wrote:I've seen the worst side of the AMV community with my AMV contest work I do.
just have an AMV show? I've always wondered why there has to be a
contest... (it may be that it wouldn't make a difference with respect
to the attitudes of the people you deal with, though, as ultimately
everyone competes for screen time, but I don't know, maybe
a less competitive environment might help).

You found me out.godix wrote:The majority of videos on the org are teenage male fantasies about how they wish they could beat up people or how they wish they could get a hot women.
And if I find out who's been stealing my newspaper, they'd better be expecting to get a lead shower... and maybe a bass guitar to the head

then what would they do with all the pretty trophies?shumira_chan wrote:Wouldn't it be feasible to forgo the contest part altogether andhackerzc wrote:I've seen the worst side of the AMV community with my AMV contest work I do.

and what would the audience "vote" on?
kinda loses the fun of free stuff and audience participation

Then why are you uploading your stuff on here where it says AMVs big on every page of this website while noone's allowed to show off their live action videos? If it's not an AMV, if it's not even a MV it doesn't belong here, there need to be seperate internet communities for your kind of works, the hobby of compositing itself. I even think that videos like The Race would've been loved even by non-anime editors if it were posted on the right site. I don't know if these things exist but you can't just expand the rules of this site to no stop. An awful lot of my MVs aren't anime anymore, and that's why I'd never consider posting them here. If you say that building stuff from scratch is what you like then I just don't understand how it's ok that you can just insert 2 frames of anime above the whole FX whoring and be allowed to post it here.Niotex wrote:I'm however implying that "A"mv isn't really all thats out there.
(It's not really fair that I always come to take that out on you Nio, but it seems you're the only one that posts in these threads)
I think that's not what this or the other 1000 threads on this topic are about. Everyone can edit back at home, I remember doing like around 50 DBZ MVs before the org came around, and then I waited like 3 years before I had the guts to register. Once you have a community like that however there should be some kind of community spirit but all you can see is some teenage puberty bullshit, sometimes I even think that we have cliques going on that seperate themselves through their goddamn musical tastes now, and that's like back in the old days at school. And as we all know: school community spirit was fucking bullshit too.godix wrote:AMVs are a hobby. The point of a hobby to enjoy yourself. If you don't like it, get the fuck out.

Hackerzc if its the people that are causing it, hang out with the friends you know you have on the org. Talk to them more often. They are truely the ones that will help you stay motivated in making videos. Why? Because they're the the ones that help you feel relaxed and enjoy yourself. You can joke around and have a good time without some jerk on the org making a comment about what you say or what you have done.
I hope you continue editing just remember to talk to people you know.

at least you make a valid point. I however never posted a complete composition in my profile. I meant the statement as rather expanding beyond the conventional ways that we've bin working with the past decennia.Ingow wrote:(It's not really fair that I always come to take that out on you Nio, but it seems you're the only one that posts in these threads)Niotex wrote:I'm however implying that "A"mv isn't really all thats out there.

No votes or trophies or free stuff. No categories even, justJaddziaDax wrote:then what would they do with all the pretty trophies?

select the AMVs that flow together well one after another
(one of the worse aspects of AMV contests is the pacing,
as category switches are rather jarring). It would also help
with the "oh no, not half an hour of sappy romance"
syndrome. Audience participates regardless through their
reactions, perhaps even more enthusiastically if the overall
show is better balanced.
