I would travel that far to meet my favorite actors, comedians, artists, etc.. but to meet a bunch of people at another state for a few days that just share the same hobby?? Seems pointless.. plus hotel expenses, parking, con, and travel pricing and the general traveling! Come on.. it's not worth it.. I don't even want to visit relatives that are far away in other states.. though this summer my sister is going to be traveling across the states mainly to visit relatives.. and I'm just going mainly to keep her company and she'll be paying for my food and gas so it's all good!

Many of us don't consider the other editors to just be "a bunch of people that share the same hobby". Some of us are friends with other editors, and for that, a trip once a year or so to visit with them is great. And sometimes meeting together with other editors means making more of such friends. Family members can't really be compared. I mean, I lived in the same apartment complex as my mom and I still didn't like to visit her. >_>x_rex30 wrote:I would travel that far to meet my favorite actors, comedians, artists, etc.. but to meet a bunch of people at another state for a few days that just share the same hobby?? I had a camera AND alcohol. It was the best of both worlds!ZephyrStar wrote: Alcohol is not neccessary, but it can be fun, especially if you're the one with the camera and without the alcohol.
Well, aside from most of it not being steady. Can you say.. EARTHQUAKE CAM?
Despite this thread being kind of derailed, I'd be up for an international editor meeting of somesort. Not that I'd ever be invited to one. Or have enough money if I were.
