You mean there's a reason to travel other than anime cons?

Aw, now I wanna go to AWA. :amv:

I guess it'll be cheaper than flying back to Japan at least...

I concer! Next year we all head to Kawaii-Kon!
If I'm gonna go to Hawaii, it's certainly not going to exclusively be for an anime convention XD
Exactly my point. :P

I would travel that far to meet my favorite actors, comedians, artists, etc.. but to meet a bunch of people at another state for a few days that just share the same hobby?? Seems pointless.. plus hotel expenses, parking, con, and travel pricing and the general traveling! Come on.. it's not worth it.. I don't even want to visit relatives that are far away in other states.. though this summer my sister is going to be traveling across the states mainly to visit relatives.. and I'm just going mainly to keep her company and she'll be paying for my food and gas so it's all good!

yes, come to Kawaii Kon - you will be welcome! I can make certain of that :) Lets make Kawaii Kon the AWA of the Pacific and meet here (well, there as I'm currently in Guam of all places) and we can all meet and get lei'd there :)

Many of us don't consider the other editors to just be "a bunch of people that share the same hobby". Some of us are friends with other editors, and for that, a trip once a year or so to visit with them is great. And sometimes meeting together with other editors means making more of such friends. Family members can't really be compared. I mean, I lived in the same apartment complex as my mom and I still didn't like to visit her. >_>

I had a camera AND alcohol. It was the best of both worlds!

Well, aside from most of it not being steady. Can you say.. EARTHQUAKE CAM?

Despite this thread being kind of derailed, I'd be up for an international editor meeting of somesort. Not that I'd ever be invited to one. Or have enough money if I were.
