My family dont like my amvs T-T..
Well, probably that's because they watched "kami dies", an
action video of death note that i made few months ago, and
its very intense xD, and they're very passive persons.
Now, my friends likes a lot my amvs, and some of them
became members of my studio with purpose of be my
collaborators, and that`s make me very happy
*Bonus track: My school teachers love my amvs too xDD!!!
Specially the action videos, and some of them are older
than my family...so i want to ask..WTF??? o.O
xD

Well, my husband will watch my amv's and puts up with me spending so much time on my hobby. He did like Meri's 'One Guitar' video a lot, though, but I don't think he's coming around to being a fan or anything. He frequently refers to the org as the 'collective', and mumbles something about being assimilated.
My kids are a different story altogether. Two of them are editing now, and having their videos removed from the 'tube fairly quickly... Must be the Disney Jams tracks. They are usually pretty helpful in doing beta testing for me, and my teenager has a good eye for mistakes his mom makes. Go figure. It's nice to have a hobby that is connected to something that my children are interested in (anime) and enjoy. I also help out with the school anime club, and hit the local conventions with them. They are big fans of some of the editors here, too.
My sister enjoys amvs as well, and she was the one that requested 'Sesshomaru and His Fangirls'. I also have some nephews that have dubbed me the 'cool' aunt because of all of this (made the Ghibli Girls vid for one of them). The only side of the family that thinks I am totally off my rocker would be the in-laws, but I have plenty of other things that I do (hobbies, volunteer work, profession, etc.) that keep them happy to have me in the family. XD
Friends outside the org that know about amvs? Yeah, I have quite a few actually, many of them the moms of my kid's friends. They seem to like them, and one of them is a Ghibli fanatic. We are having a Ghibi marathon at our house later this month with the girls in fact.
Good times.

My wife always looks askance at me wondering why I'm spending time making AMVs rather than making more money! But she's kinda like that with all of my hobbies. The kids though love AMVs and my oldest son has started working on his own, though nothing finished yet. It's fun being able to help him get started and having something to talk about other than nagging him about homework!

Most of my friends know of my hobby but fewer have seen the video themselves, they think it's fantastic but not much further than that. About my family, my big brother introduced me to amvs, but with time I developed more mania about them than he. My little brother also liked to make amvs but he has stopped because it's too hard to for him making a video as awesome as the new generation of videos (I mean, effect madness). My mom likes the videos especially if they have music she likes, and she respects my editing just as a hobby. On the other side my dad hates amvs, he says it's a waste of time and doesn't give money, as a matter of fact he forbids me making them, which makes the editing more exiting
