Or, call me crazy, buy the dvd's.
And we're back to my biggest problem in making AMVs. I plain don't have money. Heck, I'm majorly in debt trying to pay college fees. ;_;
Although I am working on that. I finally was able to ave up spare cash and afford a whole series on DVD (and figures, I run out of AMV ideas for that series... -_-). But since I'm trying to save up for Premier, and also mangas, it's really hard to save for DVDs. The only anime I can usually get is from a friend of mine who deals with subtitles. I do intend to buy all my series eventually, but that takes time.

Well that works, but I like to keep things in their original aspect ratio if I were to crop, since making it into a widescreen ratio by subtracting both top and bottom makes cropping look too obvious. Plus, you'll lose more unnecessary information.

As AD said; the fact it's expensive is not an excuse for piracy. :wink:

Actually, I've heard that the authorities don't mind, because fansubs actually increase the market. They show you what's out there, and then you want to get the better quality stuff (like me). It's also a good gauge for companies to see what's popular; if a series is fansubbed and distributed rapidly, then they know that the series is a hot item, and liscence it pretty quick.
Belive me, if they DID mind, I wouldn't have anything to do with fansubs.

Where did you hear THAT? o_O

Anyway, publishing companies like FUNimation hate fansubbing, from what I know.

using lanzcosresize or bicubicresize with some setting (no time to look up now) is supposed to sharpen the image when resizing, which should help with the blurring. this can be done in vdub or avisynth.

We're talking about song reviewability and now subtitle removal? :shock:
actualy, i think this is still on topic, because a lot of people don't want to watch a vid that has lots of subs in it, therefore affecting the reviewability.
Disscussing how to remove subs, or why someone would not is just a slight deviation from the main topic, because they are still talking about why the subs should be there to begin with, and why they should NOT affect reviewability.

or at least, thats how i see it.

Lemme put it this way. Subs are a huge ass gorilla on your back when you're goin' swimmin. Sure you may not notice it's there, if you're used to shit like that, or just care. But aware of it, or not, it really gets in the way. So you prefer swimming WITH or WITHOUT the gorilla?
