Sometimes, though, you have to just dump the core of your mind and just enjoy something for what it is. Ya know, not look into it so deeply. Take something like BoBoBo for instance. The first time I saw it, I wondered what the hell this crap was. Then, I turned off my brain and just watched and a strange thing happened. I started to enjoy it. Things don't always need to be relevant to your life and your way of thinking. Sometimes you have to step beyond that and try and see things from another point of view.

There will always be crappy anime. You just got to find the good stuff in the pile of crap.

Frankly, I don't always give a shit about story in my AMVs. Generally, if it pops in my head, I'll think about it to see if it works. For example, my first AMV was based on that and suitability of the characters in the AMV.

I wouldn't say it's all the same for MADs. After all, they're just AMVs from Japan and nothing more but that's being incredibly basic.

I was laughing out loud at the last minute or so of your rant. I agreed with every second of it. I think amvs need to stop feeling like all the recent anime that has been coming out and have more meaning like a lot of the older ones. And I totally relate with your comment on their music.. I lived in Japan for a year and I couldn't stand any of their music. Being a big techno fan back then I tried out what they had and it was awfully pathetic. Anime is worse than it's ever been, and amvs have gone down the drain.

Trying to find meaning in an AMV is like trying to find out what a Politician really thinks.

Actually either one of those is easy. The politican is thinking 'Gee I hope I can pile on enough crap that these morons like me' and the meaning behind most AMVs is 'Gee I hope I can pile on enough crap that these morons like me'. Only difference is AMVs don't raise your taxes if you got tricked into choosing it.

Actually, they make you exceed your bandwidth, and then you lose money. So really, there isn't much of a difference.
