Well no, now that you put it that way.Kionon wrote: This is how capitalism thrives. What are you, an unAmerican commie sympathizer?
Let me ask you this. Is the price/performance ratio of a Mac, better than other pieces of hardware on the market or is just for the fact that it's a Mac?
Your paying for more than what you get and that's unfair, to you. I know it's a pointless argument to put up but I'm going to leave the question in thought.
Now I'd post mine if I had a working camera.

I have two answers to this. The first is a matter of personal experience with windows. It just doesn't work for me. 2000 was awesome, then it was all downhill from there. And there's no purpose to go into trying to examine the reason why this is the case, because I frankly don't care, and even if you offered proof that in every situation I was causing it myself, I probably just wouldn't believe you. So at the very least, I would want Mac OS X. I do have one hack (and four macs, of course), and I am satisfied only to a certain point. And that's because...Ryvannis wrote:Well no, now that you put it that way.Kionon wrote: This is how capitalism thrives. What are you, an unAmerican commie sympathizer?

I am, in general, an ethical person. I believe in trying before you buy as a legit form of consumerism, but I will buy if I like. This is true for DVDs I get either because I really love the series, or because I intend to use them as source. I do this with music. Most music, to me, is rather mediocre, but for those artists I really like, I may already have lossless FLACs, but I am going to go out and buy the CD because it's The Right Thing To Do. In the same way, because I installed OS X (and I own two copies of leopard, retail, of course) on my PC, and I really, really enjoyed the experience, I owe it to Apple to pay them back for that (or I owe it to my own sense of ethics, if you want to get really nitpicky, not like Apple needs my money). True, I have already purchased an Apple Cinema Display, two PowerMacs, and a MacBook since installing OSx86, but I just believe my own code of honor requires me to choose an Apple desktop if I want to keep using OS X, especially with snow leopard on the way (I am about to test the developer release here this weekend). The hack is my try before my buy. I tried, I am satisfied, time to buy.

Honestly most fanboys would come out and bash me relentlessly without anything to backing themselves up on asking on a question like that but you gave out a justified opinion and I respect that. You tried something, didn't like it, then tried something else, liked it, and you continue to use at as you felt.Kionon wrote:I have two answers to this. True maybe Macs do work better for you and you feel that in a sense that it's a superior operating system and platform. Maybe you should try Windows 7? Kidding, I'll stop there as the thread derailed enough as it did.

I betaed it in Parallels. It's superior to Vista, but it didn't impress me much compared to OS X, especially since I have the developer preview of Snow Leo.Ryvannis wrote:Honestly most fanboys would come out and bash me relentlessly without anything to backing themselves up on asking on a question like that but you gave out a justified opinion and I respect that.
