Wow, I'm so glad someone mentioned this video. I don't think it's on the .org, but at the same time, next to some of Hsien's early works, this was one of the first AMVs I ever saw. Keep in mind that I started watching AMVs about...4 years ago when Hsien just started out and this Eva video was "new" :).

Duane Johnson, ah his vids bring back memories. Speaking of him...the Rock's actually name is Duane Johnson too...could this be some coincedence?

Oh, I forgot Abaddon. The guy started the landslide of Eva/In The End videos.
Ask me about my secret stash of videos that can't be found anywhere anymore.

Would that be 'legendary', or 'infamous'?

It doesn't matter. His was the first and the only really good one (not counting those that haven't premiered yet, like mine)

I think we're bound to simply agree to disagree here. In all honesty, I've yet to see a video seriously using "In the End" (i.e., not intentionally making fun of it) that I really thought was 'good'. And at least personally, I think one of the last things the world needs is yet another video setting Eva to "In the End". Admittedly, I'm sick of seeing the whole "Everybody Dies" sequence from EoE or Asuka fighting the production EVAs in every other video period. The same goes for 'dramatic' Bebop vids with like the entirety of Julia's getting shot in them- if we made an AMV drinking game using overused scenes like this (take one shot every time you see Unit 2 disemboweled, make it 2 [or as many as you want] if it's set to a Linkin Park song), we'd get sued for the deaths from alcohol poisoning.

I realize some people may enjoy these vids immensely, and that's just fine with me- liking a video or not is almost wholly a matter of personal taste. You're welcome to consider the editor you hold as having started it all as a legend. I'd just personally consider that honor as being more infamous than legendary.

So does my editing software. Seriously. I was going to do one with Yumede Aetara after I finished this sucker, since I had all the source cut already and it would have taken like no time, but my editor just plain stopped working about 15 seconds in. It had more sense than I did.

After an hour or so of trying to whip this mule into moving, I gave up and cancelled the project. Ofcourse, now that this anime is coming out on R1 DVD, I may give it another go. Masuo is such an incredible sad-sack that it might even work.

I don't think the second of those was used in Abaddon's video... and I doubt thast the first will be in his upcoming remaster.
