You know, it's that exact problem that made me stop doing op exchanges. If you decide you honestly don't care, you can have the freedom to do what you like, even if you don't get that 'great' reaction each time. Let's face it, if you're not doing vids geared at the general public, you have to be excellent if you want people to stop judging you and comparing each vid to whichever one they thought was 'worthy.' I've been putting stories off for nearly a month now, trying to catch whatever it is that people want to see. And the moment I touched the edge of that I realized, I don't care. I was making myself miserable worrying about the critics - even the helpful ones. I just wanted to make amvs that I'd enjoy watching.
I didn't think you'd be so worried about other people's opinions. ^_^; Just make what you like. Invite the people you think might enjoy the vid to watch - and ingore the rest. When the only feedback you get is 'scrap the vid' or 'not as good as *this* because you didn't make the vid for me' then it's about time to reset exactly who the vid was done for - the creator, and those people who share the same interests. If you want to improve your general skills, get all the feedback you can and learn from it. If you just want to make vids, the critics don't matter.
